Chapter 364 Taking Her Home
Just as the three of them stood in an awkward stalemate, Todd received a phone call and walked over. "The client is arriving soon."
Dermot nodded and looked at Evelyn. "Go back first."
He didn't press for more answers and his gaze didn't even meet Greg's. "Take her home," Dermot turned to Todd and spoke, before heading back to the restaurant.
Evelyn knew Todd was here to accompany Dermot in meeting the client, so she said to him,
"Mr. Angelo, I can take a cab back by myself. You go with him instead."
"I'll take you home, Ms. Kyte. Otherwise, Mr. Doyle won't be at ease," Todd said helplessly. Marina knew that if she didn't personally accompany Evelyn back, Dermot wouldn't let him off easily.
Evelyn nodded and then looked at Greg beside her. She wanted to say something, but before she could, he took the initiative to speak, "Be careful on the way, and remember to message me when you get home."
His words were ambiguous, even Todd couldn't help but frown.
Could it be that Ms. Kyte has some connection with the Hamilton family? Although the Hamilton family is slightly stronger than the Doyle family, their CEO is definitely stronger than Greg.
Furthermore, he didn't think Evelyn was that kind of person.
Evelyn ignored Greg and had no intention of explaining anything to Todd. She simply said, "Let's go."
Todd quickly opened the car door for Evelyn, and after the two got in, they soon disappeared from the restaurant entrance. Greg watched until the car vanished before retracting his gaze.
He turned around but didn't leave the restaurant. Instead, he walked inside.
Inside the private room, Dermot was discussing business with the client who had just arrived. This time, they were mainly discussing a cooperation outside the province. The Doyle Group had plans to expand its business scope, so they had been very busy lately.
The door of the private room was knocked, causing Dermot to furrow his brow. Having his business discussion interrupted naturally displeased him.
But when he saw Greg entering upon opening the door, his displeasure deepened. "Mr. Hamilton, what can I do for you?"
The client sitting across from Dermot also stood up and greeted Greg, "Mr. Hamilton, I'm Enrico Miller."
Greg walked up to the dining table unceremoniously and sat down. "The Miller family, I remember."
Enrico was surprised but smiled even more brightly. "We greeted each other at a charity banquet in Colombia before."
"Is that so?" Greg obviously had no recollection, but he didn't mind. "Then we're acquaintances."
"Yeah, acquaintances." Being acquainted with Greg was more than enough to make Enrico happy.
Greg smiled and looked at Dermot. "What cooperation are Mr. Doyle and Mr. Miller discussing? Do I have the qualifications to participate?"
Dermot's face turned cold, but he remained silent.
Enrico quickly smiled and said, "Mr. Hamilton is joking. Mr. Doyle and I are discussing some small collaborations. What interest would you have?"
"It's not like that," Greg replied. "Making money is what matters. No one would complain about earning too little."
This made Enrico somewhat bewildered. The Hamilton family wanted to meddle in their small business dealings with Dermot?
What's going on?
As he pondered in his heart, Dermot spoke up: "Mr. Hamilton can have a share if he wants, as long as he contributes financially and physically."
"Naturally," Greg said.
Since he had nothing much to do in Moris City and it was a good opportunity to do a project, especially seeing Dermot's displeased expression, his mood improved significantly.
Thus, what originally started as a collaboration between Dermot and Enrico had now abruptly become a three-person venture, instantly doubling the scale of investment.
With the business matters settled, Enrico realized that these two men were not easy to deal with and found an excuse to slip away. He didn't want to stay here and be a scapegoat any longer.
