Chapter 46 Something's Fishy Online

There was a knock at the door and Dermot, feeling relieved, went to open it. He soon came back in with some takeout.

"Your stomach isn't feeling well, have some porridge," he said and placed the takeout in front of Evelyn.

Evelyn nodded and didn't refuse, "Sure, I'll save Keith's for tomorrow."

The words had just left her mouth when she saw Dermot sitting across from her and picking up the chopsticks to eat Keith's portion of the takeout.

Seeing her shocked expression, the man was displeased, "What? You owe me such a big favor that I can't even eat your food?"

Evelyn cried and laughed, nodding, "Of course you can eat it if you want."

She was only surprised by Dermot's actions.

The two sat face-to-face, each eating their own takeout, and the atmosphere became somewhat strange.

Evelyn had never expected to be eating takeout with Dermot after their divorce, which made things even more bizarre.

Finally finishing their meal, Evelyn looked at Dermot and asked, "Um... do you have anything else to do?"

If he didn't, she wanted him to leave as soon as possible.

Dermot understood what she meant and didn't have any reason to continue lingering, so he stood up, straightened his collar, and said, "I'm going back now."

"Okay." She nodded, eager to see him off.

Dermot walked to the doorway, then stopped suddenly, "You..."

"What?" Evelyn asked.

"Forget it, I'll tell you later." He actually still wanted to know why she disliked him, but thought better of it and refrained from asking.

Dermot left and Evelyn wiped the smile off her face. She walked over to the sofa, picked up her phone, and saw more than ten missed calls from Niall.

She called him back, "Niall."

"Are you okay? Why didn't you answer the phone earlier?" Niall sounded worried, "Big brother and I were almost about to buy plane tickets to come back."

"I'm fine. I was just taking a shower and didn't hear my phone ringing." She lied, not wanting them to worry for her while being abroad.

"What's going on online?" Niall asked. Although he wasn't there, he still knew about what happened online and was very concerned.

Evelyn explained the situation to him, trying to make sure they wouldn't worry too much, "The matter has been resolved. You don't have to worry."

"That Nicole is really despicable. How dare she deliberately frame you like that?" Niall's tone changed, and if Evelyn had been present, she would have seen a flash of killing intent in his eyes.

Evelyn's eyes turned cold as well as she said, "She's just a small fry. Now that she's been caught, she won't be able to cause any trouble. The surprising thing is how an unknown person like me could trend for so long online. There's something fishy going on."

"Forget it, I'll help you check it out," Niall offered.

Evelyn shook her head and said to him, "You're abroad now, it's inconvenient. I'll do it myself."

"Sure, your hacking skills are better than mine anyway," Niall didn't refuse, sometimes he was amazed at how talented his little sister was. She not only learned quickly but also excelled in everything she did. He felt inferior to her.

The two chatted casually for a few more minutes before Evelyn hung up the phone and opened her laptop. Her slender fingers tapped on the keyboard, her eyes fixed on the screen, not wanting to miss any detail.

Meanwhile, back at his own home, Dermot hadn't slept yet and received a call from Craig.

"This Dr. Kyte's information is quite interesting. You wouldn't have thought of it," said Craig.
