Chapter 854 Are You Stalking Me?
Dermot shook his head, looking serious. "As long as Gerald's dead, Otis can't do anything. But if two Doyle family members die, you can't bear Randy's wrath."
Randy was not someone to be trifled with. Even though Joshua's crew was from overseas, once Randy got mad, Joshua wouldn't be able to protect them, and he might even get killed himself.
Joshua got the message. He was testing if Dermot was setting him up, and the answer was surprising.
"Relax, we're partners now. I'm not sending you to your death," Dermot said, reading Joshua's mind.
Joshua sneered, "Honestly, teaming up with Otis to take you out sounds more appealing than killing Gerald."
Dermot was more of a pain than Otis and a bigger threat.
"Really? Would you?" Dermot wasn't fazed, even smiling at Joshua.
Joshua felt uneasy, suspecting Dermot was up to something.
He glanced at the restaurant and saw Evelyn and Otis coming out. Rolling up the car window, he said, "Send me the plan," and drove off.
By the time Dermot realized, Evelyn and Otis were at the entrance and saw him standing there.
Both frowned, especially Otis, who was annoyed. "Dermot, what are you doing here?"
"Just passing by," Dermot replied.
"Passing by? More like stalking Evelyn," Otis sneered. There was no way it was a coincidence.
Evelyn's face darkened. She suspected Dermot was stalking her, making her feel trapped and watched.
But in front of Otis, she kept her cool. "Mr. Otis Doyle, you should go back. I hope we have a pleasant cooperation."
"I'll take you back," Otis offered, not wanting Evelyn alone with Dermot. He had made some progress with her and didn't want Dermot messing it up.
Evelyn wasn't interested. If not for their deal, she wouldn't have had dinner with Otis. "No need. I want to walk around."
Otis hummed, knowing she was brushing him off, but he had to leave. He couldn't risk her disliking him now.
As he passed Dermot, he whispered, "Evelyn is mine."
He left without waiting for a reaction, determined to win Evelyn.
Dermot just found it amusing, not angry at all.
'Evelyn would never like you,' he thought.
Evelyn approached him. "Are you stalking me?"
"No," Dermot shook his head, quickly explaining, "I had someone watch Otis. When I heard he was with you, I got worried and came to check."
"Really?" Evelyn was skeptical but knew it made sense for Dermot to keep tabs on Otis given the Doyle family chaos.
Dermot nodded, "Yes, I know you hate being followed. I wouldn't do that to you."
