Chapter 1055: Don't Mind Him
"Dermot, I know you don't want Evelyn taking care of me, but you don't have to badmouth me," Joshua said, looking sad.
Evelyn felt a pang of guilt. Joshua got hurt saving her. If not for that, he wouldn't be in a wheelchair.
"Evelyn, why don't you go with Mr. Doyle? Brandon can take care of me," Joshua said, forcing a smile.
Evelyn couldn't leave after that. She walked over and pushed Joshua toward the villa. "Ignore him; I'll take you to your room."
Soon, they were out of Dermot's sight. Dermot clenched his teeth, resisting the urge to force Joshua into an exam. He dismissed the bodyguards, leaving Leon to wait with him.
Half an hour later, Evelyn came out of Joshua's villa, looking calmer.
"Dermot, what are you trying to do? Even if you want Joshua checked, this isn't the way," Evelyn said, understanding Joshua's resistance to medical exams.
Dermot felt wronged. "Evelyn, isn't it strange Joshua won't let Dr. Gray examine him?"
"No, it's normal from a psychological perspective," Evelyn replied.
Dermot paused, then bluntly said, "I think he's faking it. He's not really hurt."
Evelyn was stunned.
"Dr. Gray, can you repeat your analysis?" Dermot asked Leon.
Leon nodded. Based on Joshua's records, he should be bedridden, not just in a wheelchair. He should be in significant pain, not as energetic as he seems. It looked like the only issue was he couldn't get up from the wheelchair.
Evelyn realized Dermot wasn't joking and got serious. "Dr. Gray, could he just be recovering well?"
Leon didn't deny it. "It's possible, but an exam is best."
To uncover the truth, a medical exam seemed essential. But with Joshua's resistance, it was nearly impossible.
"I understand. Thank you, Dr. Gray," Evelyn said.
Dermot sighed, "Dr. Gray can't stay in Golombia forever. He's leaving today, so I brought people over. I didn't expect..."
He didn't expect Joshua to be so cunning, calling Evelyn back. Evelyn gave him a knowing look. "Even if he refuses, you can't handle it like this."
"I just want to verify if he's truly injured," Dermot said. "One of the kidnappers I caught is a foreigner. You know what that implies."
