Chapter 1110: I Don't Mean to Imprison You

At the Doyle Group President's Office in Golombia, Dermot looked at the clues Todd had found and frowned. "The plane landed on an island in Ameriland? What is this place?"

"It used to be unclaimed land. Later, Ameriland put it up for auction, and someone bought it. We can't find out the specifics," Todd replied.

Dermot was silent for a moment and easily made a conclude. "It seems the entire island is Joshua's territory. It's almost impossible for us to go there and rescue Miss Kyte."

As someone who had been by Dermot's side for many years, he knew how important Evelyn was to their president.

The person who bought the island was most likely Joshua. He was smart to use it as his base.

"So what do we do? Should we send some people over to check it out first?" Todd asked. As a right-hand man who had been by Dermot's side for many years, he knew how important Evelyn was to their president.

So, even though it would be difficult to rescue her from Joshua, it was clear Dermot would not give up.

Dermot was silent, seemingly in thought. After a while, he spoke, "Send some people, but be careful. Maintain a safe distance from the island's perimeter, conducting a thorough reconnaissance of the environs. Don't allow Joshua's men to detect your presence."

"Okay," Todd nodded.

He turned to leave, but Dermot continued, "The Doyle Group has been relatively stable recently. Keep an eye on things while I'm gone."

"Okay," Todd knew Dermot would likely be going abroad soon.

After Todd left, Dermot buried himself in work again.

He had to finish his tasks quickly and then go rescue Evelyn.

A week later, Joshua's injuries had mostly healed. It had been half a month since they left Golombia.

During this time, Evelyn hadn't shown any unusual behavior. Although she was still not very warm toward Joshua, she didn't speak harshly to him either.

"Evelyn, how do you like this island?" By the sea, Evelyn sat on the beach, looking at the vast ocean, but instead of being in the mood to enjoy the view, she felt despair.

Over time, she had learned that the entire island belonged to Joshua, and everyone here was his subordinate.

She wanted to leave, but aside from a helicopter not far away, there was only a boat responsible for transporting supplies.

She had thought about sneaking onto the boat to escape, but the security was too tight. Plus, Brandon's men were always following her, so she couldn't find an opportunity.

Upon hearing Joshua's voice, Evelyn snapped back to reality. "It's beautiful, but no matter how beautiful a place is, if you see it every day, you'll get tired of it."

"Tired of it? Do you want to go out for a walk?" Joshua sat down beside her.

Evelyn's eyes lit up at his words, and she quickly asked, "Really?"

"Of course. I don't mean to imprison you, Evelyn. Do you understand?" Joshua looked at her, no longer hiding his feelings.

Evelyn forced a smile and then stood up. "Then let's go. I've been wanting to go out and see."

To be honest, she didn't even know which country she was in. Brandon took her cell phone, making her feel like she was living in ancient times.

Seeing her happy, Joshua agreed, "Alright."

Soon, the helicopter started, and Joshua was taking Evelyn to the city.

Brandon wanted to say something but ultimately didn't. He just followed along, always keeping an eye on Evelyn to prevent her from exhibiting any abrupt actions.

Evelyn didn't care and pretended not to notice.

The helicopter took off, leaving the island.

After flying for a full hour, they finally landed in Danista. Evelyn finally learned her location from the airport announcements.
