Chapter 78 Maybe It's Your Imagination

Dermot withdrew his gaze from the window, not rushing to answer the question. "Natasha, what do you think constitutes love?" he asked, unrelated to Natalie's question.

Natalie was surprised and looked at him. "You... love her?"

"I don't know," Dermot shook his head. He truly didn't know.

"At first, I was just curious about her. Then later on, even I couldn't distinguish why exactly," he continued. Holding his coffee cup, he spoke slowly, and each word felt like a knife stabbing Natalie's heart, causing her pain.

Natalie regained her composure, suppressing her uneasiness. She said, "You told me before that you don't believe in love, that you think all love in this world is fake."

"Hmm," Dermot didn't refute her.

If it weren't for meeting Evelyn, he wouldn't have believed that his silent heart could start beating again.

"Dermot, maybe it's just your imagination," Natalie spoke up under his gaze. "You think what you feel for her is love, but it might just be curiosity or a passing fancy."

"You're right," he nodded, acknowledging the possibility.

Natalie breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, it hadn't reached a point of no return.

However, they couldn't continue like this. Otherwise, Dermot would get entangled, and by then, she wouldn't have any chance left.

Half an hour later, Kenny arrived at the restaurant. When he saw Dermot, he hid behind Natalie, a bit scared of him. Dermot only gave him a cold glance,

Natalie reached out and pulled him to sit down, saying, "When the young lady arrives, apologize to her properly, do you understand?"

"Oh, I heard you," Kenny nodded, but his tone was perfunctory.

Five minutes later, Evelyn arrived.

"Hello," Natalie stood up and extended her hand to Evelyn, "I'm Kenny's sister, Natalie."

Evelyn nodded, "Evelyn, nice to meet you, Miss Barnes."

She didn't shake hands with Natalie and didn't pay attention to the fleeting embarrassment on her face. She didn't come here to make friends.

"Ms. Kyte, Kenny was in the wrong this time. I have already criticized him and assured that there won't be a next time," she said, pushing Kenny beside her.

Kenny's gaze never left Evelyn after she arrived.

He felt that this woman had become even more beautiful. It should be quite enjoyable.

His gaze was too direct, and not only Evelyn, even Dermot beside her could feel it.

"Ah!" She shouted in pain.

The scalding hot coffee splashed onto his face, accompanied by Dermot's cold voice, "If your eyes don't want to see, I can help you with that."

"Dermot, I'm sorry, this brat..." Natalie was frustrated. He dared to be so bold in front of Dermot. Did he want to die?

Natalie wiped off the coffee from Kenny, glared at him fiercely, and gritted her teeth, saying, "Apologize to Ms. Kyte!"

"I'm sorry," Kenny lowered his head and spoke. In a place where others couldn't see, the hatred in his eyes was about to overflow.

"Louder!" Natalie shouted at him. She didn't know how she ended up with a brother like him.

Startled by Natalie's outburst, Kenny didn't dare to disobey her. He raised his voice, "I'm sorry, Ms. Kyte. I will never dare to do it again. Please forgive me."
