Chapter 839 How Does It Feel?
"Mr. Allen, it seems like you're not interested in me." Andrea's family wasn't as powerful as the Allen family, but she grew up wealthy and had her pride. She couldn't do anything that would hurt her self-respect.
Wade looked at her with a bit more respect. He had thought Andrea would ignore his impatience and keep trying to please him like the other women.
He put down his glass and nodded. "Yeah, I don't think we're a good match."
Andrea nodded, too. "Alright, thanks for being straightforward and not wasting my time."
"But I'm curious. I've heard you've been on countless blind dates and haven't found anyone suitable. What kind of woman do you like?" Andrea asked.
Wade frowned, not wanting to answer.
Andrea seemed ready for this, chuckling lightly. "I heard you liked Ms. Evelyn Kyte from the Kyte family, but she didn't like you. Then you got involved with Ms. Lucia Kyte. They say Lucia is still living in your villa."
She pressed on, "So, are you rejecting me because of Evelyn or Lucia?"
These wealthy young ladies knew all about Wade's affairs and were genuinely curious.
Wade's face turned livid. "I think you're ugly. Isn't it okay if I don't like you?"
Andrea was clearly infuriated. "Mr. Allen, you are truly rude."
With that, Andrea left angrily. But because it was Wade, she couldn't do anything to him; otherwise, she would have thrown a cup of hot coffee at him to vent her anger.
After Andrea left, Wade was still fuming. Someone immediately sat down in the now-empty seat, and he snapped, "Get lost!"
"Wade, it's been a while, and your temper has grown," Evelyn teased. It had indeed been some time since she last saw Wade, and she didn't even know he was on a blind date.
She had heard about the Allen family and the Kyte family breaking off their engagement, but the Allen family had never formally announced it. Evelyn didn't know what they meant by it, so she wouldn't bring it up herself.
Although she didn't like Lucia, she couldn't bring herself to be the one to break off the engagement.
When Wade heard Evelyn's voice, he finally looked up and saw that it was indeed her. He was a bit surprised. "Evelyn? What are you doing here?"
"Just here for a meal. Didn't expect to see you," Evelyn replied.
"Alone?" Wade glanced around but didn't see anyone else, which made him a bit curious.
He had heard that Joshua and Evelyn were very close, almost always together. Seeing Evelyn here alone was indeed surprising.
Evelyn was speechless. Couldn't she be alone?
Wade chuckled and asked, "How have you been? How does it feel to be the chairman of the Kyte Group?"
"Not much feeling. You know I hardly manage the company," she said. Whether it was a sense of achievement or feeling tired, she didn't have any.
Wade laughed at her words, feeling a bit envious. "You're lucky. Even if you take over the company, you don't have to manage it yourself. It's much more relaxed."
"You could do the same, but you can't let go," Evelyn said. Handing the company over to professionals meant it wouldn't develop much, and Wade and his family weren't willing to accept that, so they managed it themselves.
But Evelyn didn't care. She thought as long as the Kyte Group didn't go bankrupt under her watch, it was fine. As for taking it further, she really didn't have that ambition.
