Chapter 228 A Bunch of Random People
When Dermot left Barberts Apartment, it was dark. He walked alone on the side of the road without driving, wandering aimlessly.
Evelyn, who stayed at home, was not as indifferent as she appeared. She lay in bed, tossing and turning, unable to fall asleep.
The news of the Barns family's bankruptcy came when Evelyn had just finished a surgery. She received a message from Aidan and a set of documents from the clothing design company she wanted to acquire.
She changed her clothes and headed straight to the Barns Group, or rather, what used to be the Barns Group.
When she arrived, Aidan and Keith were both there, arguing over the distribution of the Barns family's assets, each wanting to get more.
Evelyn didn't interfere in them, even though Aidan was her Aidan. It was their agreement, and as an outsider, she shouldn't meddle.
When they saw her arrival, they both stopped their dispute. "Evelyn, are you sure you want to take over that clothing design company? The current situation of the company is not very good, it's in a loss-making state."
"It's okay, it's much simpler than starting a company on my own," she just didn't want to waste so she thought of taking over the company under the Barns family.
"Listening to her words, Aidan didn't inquire further and said, 'Fine, I'll have someone take you there.'"
"Good," Evelyn nodded.
However, Keith spoke up with a smile and said, "Let me take you, I don't have anything else to do."
"You? What do you want?" Aidan frowned. Although they had a working relationship before, it didn't mean he liked Keith.
Keith nodded and raised an eyebrow at him. "What can I possibly want? Don't worry, I won't eat your sister."
he walked up to Evelyn and said, "Let's go."
Evelyn didn't refuse. It didn't matter who took her, and she couldn't be bothered with why Keith was being so kind.
the two walked out of the Barns Group and took a car to the separate clothing design company.
In the car, Evelyn continued to flip through the information.
Sophia Fashion Design Company, established two years ago, focuses on high-end domestic brands.
Evelyn frowned as she looked at it. Firstly, she didn't like the name, and it was obvious that Natalie had come up with it. Secondly, they claimed to focus on the high-end market, but apart from the price, both the design and quality were far from high-end. It's no wonder they were losing money.
She was lost in thought and didn't notice Keith, who was driving, frequently glancing at her.
"I heard you had a fight with Dermot?" he couldn't help but speak up.
Only then did Evelyn lift her head and look at him. "Who told you?"
"You don't need to worry about that. Just tell me if it's true or not." He didn't need to listen to rumors; he could find out with a little investigation, for someone like him who paid special attention to Dermot. He would know about it when possible.
Evelyn glanced at him and said, "Instead of spending time on our matters, you should think about how to secure your position in the Kartland family."
She had heard that there was unrest within the Kartland family recently, and several directors were united in trying to remove Keith. It was rare for her to be curious about him.
"They're just a bunch of random people. Should I be afraid of them?" Keith scoffed, not taking those people seriously at all.
Evelyn sneered and kindly reminded him, "Don't get too cocky. Be careful not to capsize. If you didn't have the protection of the Kartland family, think about all the people you've offended. They won't let you off."
"Oh, are you worried about me? Are you planning to move on?" Keith teased, leaving Evelyn speechless. She didn't want to say another word to him.
