Chapter 1284: Calm Down

"Ah!" Lily's scream bounced off the walls as she saw Niall getting stabbed. She lost it and bolted towards him.

But before she could even get close, Conrad booted her away. Next thing she knew, everything went black.

Right before she passed out, she thought she saw Niall grinning at her, like he was saying, "Don't sweat it."

She wanted to say she felt awful, but she didn't even get the chance to spit it out.

When the phone rang, Evelyn groggily woke up. Seeing the caller ID, she was like, "Why the heck is Aidan calling me now?"

"Aidan?" She answered, still half-asleep. "What's up? It's like, one in the morning."

"What!"

Hearing Aidan's words, Evelyn snapped awake and sat up straight. "Niall's hurt?"

"Chill, Niall's fine. He's already at the hospital," Aidan quickly reassured her, trying to keep her from freaking out.

"I didn't wanna call you, but I knew you'd be pissed if I didn't, so here we are," Aidan explained. He knew Evelyn too well; if he kept her in the dark, she'd be fuming later.

Evelyn was already out of bed, throwing on clothes. "Of course you should tell me! You're at Golombia Hospital, right? I'm coming back right now. We'll talk when I get there."

"Calm down!" Aidan barked. "Do you even know what time it is? You're still in Moris City. How are you gonna get back?"

Evelyn took a deep breath.

She was still in Moris City.

No flights to Golombia at this hour.

"Get some sleep and come back tomorrow. He's fine, just a few scratches," Aidan said.

Evelyn bit her lip, not buying it. "Who did this to him?"

"The guy who attacked Niall is already caught. It's a mess. We'll talk when you get here." With that, Aidan hung up before she could ask more.

Evelyn stared at her phone, feeling helpless.

She really wanted to teleport to Golombia, but she couldn't.

Turning around, she saw Dermot had woken up. Evelyn felt a bit guilty. "Sorry, did I wake you?"

"Niall's in trouble?" Dermot asked, seeing the worry on her face.

Evelyn nodded and sighed. "Yeah, Aidan says it's minor, but I don't buy it. If it was just a scratch, he wouldn't call me now."

She figured Niall must be out cold. Otherwise, he'd have stopped Aidan from calling.

Unless Niall couldn't stop him.

"Are you really worried?" Dermot asked.

Evelyn nodded. That was her Niall. Of course, she was worried.

Dermot checked his phone and said, "If we hit the road now, we can be in Golombia by ten in the morning."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Evelyn was confused.

"If you're that worried, we can drive to Golombia right now," Dermot offered. He knew she wouldn't chill until she saw Niall herself.

Instead of waiting till morning, they might as well start now.
