Chapter 984: Afraid He Will Fall Deeper and Deeper in Love

In the study on the second floor, Aidan watched Niall and Lily leave through the window, then grabbed his phone to call Evelyn.

Aidan sighed, "Evelyn, I'm done with Niall's drama. Stay out of it too. He needs to handle his own mess now."

Niall had always coasted through life without facing real challenges. He lived in his happy bubble, unaware of the world's harsh realities. It was time he faced some struggles.

Before Evelyn could ask what was going on, Aidan hung up.

She stared at the phone, puzzled.

"What happened?" Dermot, who was beside her, had heard Aidan's words.

Evelyn shook her head and walked out of the room to call Niall.

"Niall, where are you?" Evelyn asked.

"Evelyn, Lily and I are grabbing some food. Have you eaten? Want to join us?" Niall's voice was cheerful, seemingly unfazed.

Evelyn was confused. What was going on?

"You guys eat first. Niall, can you come see me alone after? I'll send you the address." Evelyn felt she needed to talk to Niall.

Though Aidan told her not to get involved, she couldn't just ignore Niall.

Niall glanced at Lily and, sensing Evelyn's urgency, had a hunch about the topic. "Sure, I'll come by after eating."

Evelyn hung up and returned to the room.

They had almost finished eating. Keith and Sarah were planning to see a movie. Thinking about Niall, Evelyn decided not to join them and asked Dermot to take her home.

Dermot didn't ask much and silently drove her back.

"Is it about Niall and Lily?" Dermot asked.

Evelyn looked up, surprised he knew.

"I heard you mention it before, so I can guess what's going on." Dermot smiled. It was likely about Lily's motives, and Evelyn was worried Niall would be deceived.

Evelyn sighed, looking at the snowy landscape outside, feeling conflicted. "I guess he had a fight with Aidan."

And it must have been a big fight; otherwise, Aidan wouldn't be this angry.

"It's normal. Those in love rarely heed advice from others," Dermot remarked. "It's best not to cling to the idea of making him let go."

"Are we just going to watch them together? If we don't intervene now, what if he falls even deeper in love?" Evelyn was perplexed. She didn't want to argue with Niall, but some things needed to be addressed.

Dermot glanced at her and shook his head. "You can't just stop this. Are you sure you can make Niall give up?"

Evelyn shook her head. She wasn't sure.

"If you try to make him give up, he'll just get more stubborn," Dermot said.

Evelyn felt a headache coming on and massaged her temples. "So, what's the plan? Do nothing?"

"Don't worry. They're just dating now. Who knows if they'll even end up together? If you want to stop it, at least wait until they're really about to get married," Dermot said.

What he said made some sense to Evelyn. "I'm just afraid Niall will fall deeper and deeper in love."

By the time they were about to get married, it might be too late to stop it.
