Chapter 296 Not Easy at All
In front of the village, Evelyn found Ethan and Mia here.
The two children were happy to see her and surrounded her, saying, "Eve, are you here to take us back?"
"Yes, I have already found a good adoptive family for you. They are very kind, and you will definitely be able to live happily with them," Evelyn said as she touched the heads of the two children.
The two children felt a bit sad when they heard this, especially when they thought about calling someone else mom and dad in the future. But they didn't say anything because they knew this was already the best choice for them.
Evelyn led them back, and they encountered many familiar faces along the way. Evelyn greeted each one of them.
"Evelyn," an old voice called out, and Evelyn immediately turned her head to look.
"Master!" Evelyn walked over quickly, surprised. "When did you come back? Weren't you traveling around before?"
"I came back a while ago," the old man with white hair replied. He then smiled and looked at Dermot. "Is this young man your boyfriend?"
"No," Evelyn shook her head. "He's my friend, and he came to the village with me for a couple of days."
"Oh," the old man nodded repeatedly, then said to her, "I think this young man is good. He must be much better than that man who divorced you."
"Evelyn, I'm telling you, don't be sad because of that kind of man. You're so outstanding, there are plenty of men who would pursue you."
Evelyn couldn't help but feel a mix of laughter and tears as she listened. She didn't know how her master would react if he found out that the young man he said was good was her ex-husband who divorced her. Of course, she wouldn't say anything, otherwise, she was afraid Dermot wouldn't be able to leave this village.
Dermot was also very awkward. He could only smile and not say anything.
On the other hand, Emily Morgans whispered next to him, "Evelyn has divorced at such a young age, it won't be easy for her to find a partner in the future."
"Women should respect themselves and not get married at such a young age, right, Dermot?" She looked at Dermot, trying to make him know that Evelyn had been divorced, but she failed to do so.
Dermot ignored her and even moved slightly away, maintaining a certain distance from her.
Emily Morgans became angry, not at Dermot, but at Evelyn. Why did all the outstanding men like Evelyn? She wasn't any worse! It must be Evelyn, this vixen, who had bewitched Dermot!
In front, after Evelyn finished talking with the old man with white hair, the three of them continued walking towards Doyal Mansion.
"That was your master?" Dermot asked quietly.
inquired, he had heard Evelyn say that there were many in the village who were her master.
Evelyn nodded, "My martial arts were taught by him. Don't judge by appearances, my master's skills are extremely formidable. Even now, I still can't defeat him."
"Where does our master lack in appearance? Clearly, he is an accomplished person." Dermot felt Evelyn was being modest. Just look at that Grandpa Doyle, he was obviously extraordinary.
Evelyn gave him a glance, he is my master, what does he have to do with you? And also, don't be too familiar with our master.
"Where did you learn your skills?" Evelyn was curious. She learned from a young age, which is why she had such skills now. What about Dermot?
Was he also like this from a young age?
"When I was young, my grandfather sent me to train in the military camp for a period of time. He also hired a few instructors for me, and I have been training with them since I was young." Dermot didn't hide anything from her either.
Evelyn nodded, so that's how it is.
Indeed, nothing comes easy.
"Why would a girl learn martial arts? It's not elegant at all." Emily Morgans, who had been silent all along, found an opportunity to speak and looked disdainfully at Evelyn.
