Chapter 1285: But He's Not Right for You
Evelyn was totally thrown off by his words, staring at him like he had two heads. "Drive back to Golombia?"
"Yeah." Dermot nodded like it was no big deal.
Evelyn just sat there, quiet for what felt like forever, then finally shook her head. She was super worried about Niall and really wanted to get back to Golombia ASAP, but driving back in the middle of the night? No way, too risky.
"Let's just crash for the night. We can snag the first flight out tomorrow." Evelyn crawled back into bed, but she knew she wasn't getting any sleep.
In some random hospital room, Lily woke up and blinked at the unfamiliar surroundings, feeling totally out of it.
But then it all came rushing back. Her eyes got all teary, and she stumbled out of bed, heading for the door.
Once she stepped out, she realized she was in a hospital, and a tiny spark of hope lit up inside her.
She'd been brought to the hospital; did that mean they were saved?
She quickly found a nurse and asked if anyone else had been admitted with her. When she heard there was, a smile broke out on her face.
But when she found out Niall was in the emergency room, her face went ghostly white.
She forced herself to the emergency room door, staring at the glowing sign, and couldn't stop the tears.
That's when Aidan spotted her. He wasn't a fan of Lily, especially since this whole mess was pretty much her fault.
When they found Niall, Conrad almost stabbed him again, but Aidan showed up just in time.
Aidan had really wanted to leave Lily there, but for Niall's sake, he didn't. Still, that didn't mean he forgave her.
Aidan looked at the emergency room, his brow all furrowed.
Even though Niall had only been stabbed once, it was a bad one. The doc had just talked to him and made him sign some critical condition papers, which he hadn't told Evelyn about yet.
"Aidan." Lily saw him standing there and walked up, head down.
Aidan glanced at her but didn't say a word.
Lily knew he didn't like her. She used to think it was unfair, but now she felt she deserved it. If it wasn't for her, Niall wouldn't be hurt.
"Niall, he's gonna be okay, right?" Lily asked, her voice shaking.
Aidan sneered, "What do you think?"
Lily started crying, "I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize to me. Save it for Niall," Aidan cut her off, not moved by her tears.
Lily bit her lip and stayed quiet.
She knew she owed Niall an apology.
"What exactly happened?" Aidan hadn't had time to grill the people he had detained, so he asked Lily.
Hearing this, Lily's face went even paler, and she spilled everything.
When she finished, she looked up at Aidan. As expected, he looked at her with pure disgust.
Aidan said coldly, "Niall really likes you, but he's not right for you. If you care about him, you shouldn't be with him."
"I..."
"Have you ever thought about how much trouble your family will bring him? Even if he gets through this time, what about next time? Can you guarantee he'll always be lucky enough to survive?" Aidan asked.
Lily stayed silent, her face pale as a sheet.
