Chapter 81 Not Troubling Mr. Doyle
"It would be my pleasure to be friends with Miss Barns," Evelyn Marina said as she watched the two of them leave.
When their figures disappeared, the smile on Evelyn's face disappeared. Dermot, who was at her side, looked at her and shook his head. "You don't like her. Why did you agree?"
"She made that offer, and if I didn't agree, wouldn't I appear stingy?" Evelyn glanced at him and then got up to walk toward the restaurant's exit.
Dermot followed behind her, not asking any further questions. After all, he couldn't understand the thoughts of women.
Dermot: "Where are you going? I'll give you a ride."
"No need to trouble Mr. Doyle. Someone is picking me up," she said, and a white sports car had already stopped in front of Evelyn.
Dermot's expression darkened when he saw Keith's face, standing there, looking at them.
"Changed cars?" Evelyn was surprised. She remembered that Keith used to drive a red sports car.
"Didn't you ask me to be low-key? Is this low-key enough?" he pointed to the limited sports car in front of them, asking Evelyn like this.
Evelyn had a black line on her forehead. The color was low-profiled, but... it was more eye-catching than before.
"It's alright," she forced a smile and didn't comment any further.
Keith, being a gentleman, opened the car door for her and made a gesture for her to get in. Just as she was about to step into the car, she turned back and looked at Dermot, who was not far away. "By the way, Mr. Doyle, even though I appreciate your help dealing with the Barns family, I don't need it."
Dermot didn't say anything. He just stood there,
Their aura made people hesitant to approach.
Inside Keith's car, Evelyn saw Dermot's displeased expression through the car window and her lips curled up.
If beating up Kenny made her mood recover to ninety percent, then seeing Dermot unhappy at this moment restored her good mood to one hundred percent.
Did Dermot think that helping her deal with the Barns family would make up for Cassie's mistake? He was too naive.
"What are you thinking?" Keith glanced at Evelyn and could sense her good mood.
Evelyn shifted her gaze from outside the window and looked at Keith, asking, "What do you want from me?"
When she was meeting Kenny at the restaurant, she received a phone call from Keith asking to meet. So she had him come and pick her up.
"At least I saved you once, there's no need to be so cold," Keith said. When Dermot was around, Evelyn would still give him a smile, but when it was just the two of them, she didn't even give him a single ounce of respect.
Sometimes he couldn't help but wonder, does Evelyn truly dislike Dermot, or is she just pretending?
Evelyn didn't pay attention to his words and said, "Even if you and Dermot didn't come that day, I would have been fine."
"Even though you say that, I didn't know. I came to save you. Isn't that worth your gratitude?" Keith feigned a sense of injustice.
Evelyn fell silent.
What he said made sense, including Dermot, she owed them a favor in this matter.
Evelyn said, "How do you want me to thank you?"
"It's not difficult at all. There's a banquet in a few days, and I want to invite you as my companion." As he spoke, Keith had already parked the car in front of Barberts Apartment and looked at Evelyn.
"What banquet?" Evelyn asked.
Keith shook his head and said secretly, "It's a secret for now, I'll tell you when the time comes."
Evelyn frowned.
"Don't worry, I won't sell you out." Keith was afraid she wouldn't agree. He reassured her.
