Chapter 56 Don't Like the Surname Doyle, Like the Surname Kartland?
Barberts Apartment.
Keith dropped Evelyn off at the entrance of the residential area and asked in a jocular way, "Won't you invite me for coffee?"
"No," Evelyn refused, "It's getting late. Mr. Kartland, you should go back and rest."
"Call me Keith," he reminded.
"Keith," Evelyn didn't argue. It didn't matter what she called him. It was all the same.
Keith nodded satisfactorily, opened the car door, and said, "Go get some rest as well."
Soon, Evelyn got out of the car and walked into the residential area, disappearing from Keith's sight.
Keith didn't rush to leave. He leaned against the car door and lit a cigarette, check the time, and smiled, "They should be here soon."
As soon as he finished speaking, a car approached from not far away. It was the black phantom he had seen before.
A bigger smile formed, "They came quite fast."
The car stopped in front of him, and Dermot got out, his face gloomy, "Aren’t you tired of it?”
"I've had enough, haven't I?"
"What is Mr. Doyle talking about? I don't understand." Keith asked with a smile, which seemed to irritate Dermot.
"You don't understand?" Dermot sneered, "It seems like the Kartland family is not meant to exist anymore."
Keith's expression changed slightly upon hearing this, losing his playful demeanor from earlier. "Are you planning to go after the Kartland family?"
"Isn't that what you wanted?" Dermot replied.
"Yes," Keith nodded, rarely serious.
For so many years, Dermot never took him seriously, constantly provoking him while treating him as a clown.
Now, finally, he was taking this seriously.
He was satisfied and finished his cigarette in one breath. "I'll be waiting then."
As Dermot was ready to leave, he deliberately taunted, "By the way, Evelyn said she has no interest in Mr. Doyle. It would be best if Mr. Doyle does not disturb her."
Evelyn?
They seemed quite close.
Dermot's face darkened, his teeth clenched. "She may not be interested in me, but does she have interest in you?"
"Of course, I think Evelyn is quite fond of me," he nodded, a smile on his face.
After saying that, Keith drove off, leaving Dermot standing there alone.
A fire ignited in his heart, completely fueled by Keith's words at this moment.
He turned and walked into the residential area, arriving in front of Evelyn's door a few minutes later, and knocked.
The door opened quickly, and Evelyn, who had just finished showering and changed into her pajamas, suddenly saw Dermot standing outside the door. For a moment, she couldn't respond. "What are you doing here?"
"You look surprised. You thought it was Keith knocking on the door?" the man retorted.
Evelyn was speechless, then she was about to close the door. "Mr. Doyle, if you have something to say, let's talk tomorrow. I want to sleep."
However, the door was only halfway closed before it was blocked by a large hand, and Dermot took the opportunity to squeeze into the living room.
Evelyn looked at him, angry. "Dermot, get out of here!"
But Dermot didn't move.
"You..." Evelyn was about to continue scolding, but Dermot suddenly approached her.
Evelyn backed away but soon found herself forced into a corner with nowhere else to go.
"What... What do you want?" she stammered, never having seen Dermot like this before, finding him somewhat intimidating.
"I already warned you to stay away from Keith. why didn't you take my advice?" the man shouted angrily, his eyes flickering with fury.
Evelyn also became infuriated, and said indignantly, "Why should I take your advice? Who do you think you are?"
Very well, Dermot's fury inside grew even larger.
"Don't like those with the last name Doyle, prefer those with the last name Kartland?" the man, almost pressing against Evelyn, spoke, suppressing his anger.
