Chapter 367 Save Me

Dermot didn't know much about Evelyn's true identity.

He accidentally overheard Grandpa Doyle mentioning Evelyn on the phone and realized that her background was not simple. That's when he understood why his grandfather insisted on him marrying Evelyn.

Why does Evelyn, who grew up in the countryside, know so much?

But at that time, he didn't have a clear understanding of Evelyn's background until Greg arrived, and he realized that maybe he should pay more attention.

But... he and Greg are different.

Greg had a purpose from the beginning, but he only found out about all of this after he fell in love with Evelyn.

"I'm doing this in the hope that the person will notice Evelyn's existence sooner, so that she can embrace her heritage earlier. Only then can she be safe enough, and you will be safe too." He was well aware that no matter what happens, he didn't care if he lost his life for the person his grandson fell in love with.

So, in order to ensure his grandson's safety, he has to ensure Evelyn's safety first.

Dermot understood his grandfather's intentions and couldn't help but smile and cry, saying, "If Evey knew that you were good to her because of her background from the beginning, she would be heartbroken."

Evelyn had mentioned before that her grandpa was strange, but at that time, they didn't know the reason behind it.

But now Dermot knew, while Evelyn was still unaware.

Dermot felt uncomfortable, and even had the feeling of wanting to tell her everything.

But he was also afraid. What if Evelyn thought he was like Greg, knowing about her background and saying he liked her? What would he do then?

"Evey... which family in Colombia are you from? It's time for you to tell me clearly," Dermot thought, maybe he should understand everything and make preparations for Evelyn in advance.

Grandpa Doyle nodded. There was nothing to hide at this point.

Afterwards, Grandpa Doyle told Dermot about what had happened all those years ago, but only the part that he knew. Upon hearing this, Dermot fell into deep thought.

No wonder Greg was so persistent. Evelyn's background was indeed so valuable...

While Dermot and Grandpa Doyle had a late-night conversation, Evelyn, who was sleeping soundly, was awakened by the ringing of her phone.

She groggily made her way to the living room and answered the call, saying, "Hello?"

"Eve! Help me!"

Marina's voice came from the other end of the line, filled with panic and crying, instantly waking up the drowsy Evelyn.

She glanced at the caller ID and immediately stood up, not even having time to change her clothes. "Don't panic. Where are you? Tell me the location."

"Joy Inn," Marina urgently reported the location.

After hanging up the phone, Evelyn rushed out of the door without even changing her clothes, fearing that she might be too late.

Marina hung up the phone and huddled in the bathroom stall, trembling, praying for Evelyn to arrive quickly.

"Marina? Where are you? Don't play hide-and-seek with me," Evander's voice came from the entrance, sending shivers down Marina's spine.

"It's getting late, we should go to sleep." Evander took slow steps towards her, and Marina didn't dare to move, but tears flowed freely.

It flowed uncontrollably downwards.

She could never have imagined that just having dinner with Evander would result in him drugging her. If she hadn't drunk so little and woke up in time, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

But now... the entire hotel was filled with Evander's people. She could only hide in the public restroom. Even so, Evander showed no intentions of letting her go and actually pursued her.

The door was knocked and Marina screamed, revealing her location instantly.
