Chapter 378 The Woman in the Photo
Evelyn turned on the lights in the living room. The walls were still black. She remembered Dermot asking for her help with the interior design, but she had been too busy lately and had forgotten about it. She needed to quickly design it for him and change the decoration.
Finding the study, Evelyn pushed the door open and entered.
The style of the study was not much different from the living room. As soon as Evelyn stepped in, she felt a sense of oppression. She couldn't imagine how Dermot could work in here.
Walking to the desk, she opened the cabinet and quickly found the document Dermot needed.
She subconsciously prepared to leave with the document, but just as she took a couple of steps, she suddenly remembered what Natalie had said that day.
She mentioned that there was a photo of a woman under Dermot's desk in the study. Initially, Evelyn hadn't paid much attention to it, but now...
She turned around and looked at the desk as if something was attracting her.
"Since I'm here, it won't hurt to take a look. It'll put my mind at ease," she said to herself and walked back to the desk.
There were no photos on the desktop, and when Evelyn opened the cabinet, she couldn't find anything either.
Sure enough, that woman Natalie was just deceiving her.
Thinking of this, she inexplicably breathed a sigh of relief and stood up to leave.
But her gaze fell on a book on Dermot's desk, and Evelyn paused.
There was a novel on the desktop. Evelyn found it strange that Dermot, being such a busy person, had time to read a novel.
With that thought, she picked up the book and casually flipped through it.
Perhaps it was a woman's intuition, but Evelyn found the photo she was looking for in this book.
In the photo, a woman was holding the man's arm, smiling brightly at the camera with a victory sign.
Evelyn looked at the photo, feeling a bit dizzy.
She looked at the girl and wanted to say that she was nothing like her. Natalie was indeed deceiving her.
But after looking at it a few more times, Evelyn felt a connection with the woman in the photo.
It's very similar.
It's an indescribable likeness, not only in appearance but also in the aura it exudes.
Her gaze slowly drifted to the side, landing on the man the girl was with, and Evelyn found it somewhat piercing.
The man the other person was with was none other than Dermot.
Although Dermot in the photo didn't have an obvious smile, Evelyn could still feel that at the moment the photo was taken, he was happy.
Evelyn felt her breathing becoming difficult and hastily put the photo back and returned the book to the desk before leaving the study in haste.
"Ms. Kyte," Todd looked at Evelyn walking out and felt that something was off with her complexion.
Evelyn forced a smile, showing no hint of anything unusual, "Hmm, this is the document he wanted. You can give it to him."
"Alright." Todd nodded without asking further.
Evelyn watched Todd's figure disappear around the corner, and the smile she had put on her face completely vanished. She stood at the entrance of Dermot's house without leaving for a long time.
Who is that girl? Dermot's ex-girlfriend?
