Dermot didn't argue; he nodded. "Yeah, even if I lost my memory, I would fall in love with you again."
Evelyn opened her mouth but said nothing.
"Isn't it true? Haven't you noticed that even with amnesia, I still pay more attention to you than anyone else? I still care about other men around you, and it still bothers me." Dermot smiled bitterly. He had to admit that Evelyn was his destiny.
Evelyn felt uneasy, perhaps because it was true, or maybe she thought he was making excuses for himself.
She looked at him and said, "It's meaningless to say these things now. After all, you have a girlfriend now."
"Margaret and I are just in a partnership." Dermot knew she misunderstood, so he quickly explained.
"Partnership? Using a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship as a partnership?" Evelyn sneered. She wasn't a child; it wasn't that easy to fool her.
Dermot sighed and explained everything to her, from being saved by Margaret to their partnership and eventually becoming a couple.
However, after listening, Evelyn was only slightly surprised and quickly returned to normal. "So, you became a couple with her to take over the Doyle family, and that's what you call a partnership?"
"Yes." That was the truth; at least, that's how Dermot considered it.
Evelyn chuckled, looking at Dermot; she asked, "Without partnering with Margaret, can't you take over the Doyle family? If that's the case, then you're not the Dermot I knew."
The Dermot she knew was confident. She thought, 'Does he really need to partner with Margaret? Does that really matter that Margaret was the daughter of the Martin family? Besides, does she have any real power in the Martin family? Probably, the little power she has now is because she is with Dermot. After all, the Martin family also wants to support an heir of the Doyle family heir.'

He continued, "Evelyn."
"Even if I give you another chance, who can guarantee you won't ruin it again? Or, how many more chances do you want?" She looked at him, feeling a bit tired.
Dermot couldn't say anything, even he found himself despicable.
"Dermot, I'm tired. Let's end it here." After saying that, she got up and walked out of the lounge without looking back.
