Chapter 1024: Take Your Time, No Rush

Ruby thought about Craig and frowned. "I don't think I like him anymore."

She used to be unsure. Even though she didn't want to be with Craig, he still had a special place in her heart.

But after moving to Colombia and gaining more life experience, she reevaluated her feelings. She realized her love for Craig was misguided from the start.

"Don't like him anymore?" Evelyn was surprised by Ruby's directness.

"Yeah, I don't like him anymore," Ruby confirmed.

Evelyn leaned in, resting her chin on one hand. "What made you so sure?"

"It's not sudden," Ruby chuckled dryly. "I saw him shopping with another woman the other day. If I still had feelings, it would've bothered me, but it didn't. I actually hope he ends up happy with her."

She genuinely wanted Craig to be happy, just not with her.

Ruby letting go of Craig so easily was surprising. Evelyn asked, "Does he know?"

"I told him, but he doesn't believe it." Ruby had told Craig more than once that she didn't like him anymore.

But Craig always thought she was just angry or lying.

But she was serious.

Of course, Craig wouldn't believe it; he was self-absorbed and obsessive.

Evelyn smiled. "Since you don't like him, why not give Alex a chance? He's a great guy."

Evelyn had looked into Alex when she found out he and Ruby were classmates. She knew his background and believed he was a good person.

"Evelyn, it takes time to get over a failed relationship," Ruby said with a bitter smile. Even though she no longer had feelings for Craig, the pain he caused still lingered.

She was afraid her next partner might be as controlling as Craig, afraid of being trapped again. She hated that feeling of confinement.

Ruby's words pained Evelyn. "It's okay; take it slow. You're still young; no rush."

"Yeah," Ruby nodded with a smile. "We were supposed to be talking about you, but now we're talking about me."

Evelyn chuckled.

After dinner, they didn't rush home.

For some reason, Evelyn also didn't want to return to the villa where Joshua lived; it always made her uneasy.

"Let's go shopping. I haven't been shopping in a long time, and the clothes I'm wearing are from last year," Ruby suggested.

She was too busy to shop.

"Can you believe it's only two days until New Year's?" Evelyn said, glancing at the bustling crowd and festive streets. She felt a wave of emotion.

Ruby was taken aback. She had forgotten about it too.

For many workers, New Year's had lost its significance.

"Let's get some new clothes," Ruby said, tugging Evelyn toward the nearest mall. It was her tradition to buy new outfits for New Year's, and this year was no different.

"Alright," Evelyn agreed. She wasn't too interested in clothes for herself, but with New Year's approaching, she thought it would be nice to pick up some gifts for Aidan and Niall.
