Chapter 1155: We Are Just Supporting Characters
Evelyn and Keith were totally on the same page about this. "Keith just wants to treat you right. What girl doesn't dream of a big, fancy wedding?"
"A big wedding, so what? It won't stop us from fighting later," Sarah shot back.
Evelyn chuckled, not sure what to say. "That's exactly why you need those beautiful memories now. So when you do fight, you can remember how much you loved each other on your wedding day."
Sarah just pressed her lips together, staying quiet.
She wanted to say it was all pointless. Her wedding with Nolan was grand too, but it didn't stop the fights. In the end, he betrayed her and left her with nothing.
She didn't say it, but Evelyn got the hint. "Sarah, everyone's different. Don't go into this with Keith thinking it'll be the same. It's hard to be happy that way."
Evelyn really hoped this marriage would bring Sarah some joy and help her move past the pain from her first marriage.
"I get it. Don't worry." Even though Sarah sometimes couldn't help but think about it, she wasn't going to dwell on it.
It would pass eventually.
Or maybe, it already had.
"Hey, Sarah, I came by to see if you need any help. Blowing up balloons, decorating the place, anything," Evelyn said with a smile, trying to change the subject.
Sarah shook her head. "There are so many people at home; all that stuff's already done."
"Sorry, I've been stuck in Moris City these past few days. I should've come earlier to help," Evelyn said, feeling a bit guilty for not being there sooner.
Sarah didn't mean it like that and said, "My mom got a bunch of relatives to help out. They were more than happy to do it. You don't need to worry."
"Okay," Evelyn nodded, letting it go.
Sarah thought for a moment and then said, "By the way, you and Ruby haven't tried on the bridesmaid dresses yet. Since we have time now, let's go make sure they fit."
She didn't care if Evelyn and Ruby looked prettier than her on the wedding day. In fact, she wanted them to look amazing; it would make her happy.
"Sure, I'll call Ruby," Evelyn agreed, thinking it was a good time to go over the wedding day plans. It was her first time being a bridesmaid, and she had no clue what to do.
Evelyn called Ruby, and she showed up quickly.
Things at the Kite Group had been pretty chill lately, so she wasn't too busy. Plus, she was already a pro at handling the company's stuff, so skipping a day wasn't a big deal.
The three of them headed to the bridal shop together. Sarah's wedding dress was from there, and they had the bridesmaid dresses too, so it was super convenient.
"Go try them on," Sarah said, asking the store manager to bring the bridesmaid dresses and nudging Evelyn and Ruby toward the fitting room.
Soon, the two came out of the fitting room. The dresses fit perfectly, and since both of them were gorgeous, they looked stunning even in green dresses.
"Wow, you guys look amazing in that green dress! Seriously, I haven't seen anyone pull it off like that before," the store manager gushed, practically glowing at Evelyn.
If she didn't know Evelyn's background, she would've probably asked her to model for the store.
"Evelyn, Ruby, those dresses really suit you. You look fantastic," Sarah couldn't help but compliment them.
Evelyn grinned, "Come on, Sarah, we're just here to make you look good. You're the star of the wedding!"
"Yeah," Ruby echoed.
