Chapter 482 Could It Be a Failure?
If she wouldn't talk, Dermot didn't care. He looked at his people, and commanded "Take her to the dungeon. Interrogate her thoroughly; I want to know everything she knows."
He wasn't as merciful as Evelyn. This person who wanted to kill him deserved a 'warm welcome'.
After the woman was taken away, Dermot stood there for a while, feeling a bit heavy-hearted.
As Evelyn got closer to the truth, the dangers around her increased. Dermot was no longer sure how much longer he could protect her.
Could he still be of help once she returned to The Kyte Family? Or did he even have the right to help?
It seemed he was still too weak.
A few days later, Lassie Baker returned from Colombia and immediately found Evelyn, "Dr. Kyte, I've arranged it with Moris Hospital and the hospital in Colombia. They are now cooperating hospitals, so you can perform the surgery at the Colombian hospital."
"Hmm, that was quick," Evelyn remarked, despite the fact that the Baker Family was only a second-tier family in Colombia, their power was not to be underestimated.
Not to mention The Kyte Family, one of the top ten families. If she really returned, she wasn't sure how she would handle it.
"After all, it's my grandfather's life at stake. Of course, I had to act quickly," Lassie Baker didn't downplay her efforts; she had indeed sought a lot of help for this matter.
Evelyn didn't comment. Lassie persisted, "Dr. Kyte, when will you come to Colombia to perform the surgery on my grandfather?"
"Tomorrow," Evelyn replied.
"What?" Lassie was surprised, "So soon?"
Before coming, she had hoped Evelyn would agree within a week, which would have been satisfactory. She hadn't expected Evelyn to say tomorrow.
"Too soon? Would you prefer I go later?" Evelyn asked, finding Lassie a bit odd.
Lassie quickly shook her head, "No, no, I just didn't expect it to be so soon. I thought you'd take a few days."
"Your grandfather's condition is critical. Since we've decided on surgery, the sooner, the better. Delaying won't do any good," Evelyn explained.
Lassie nodded, "Then I'll arrange the flight for tomorrow."
"Alright," Evelyn said simply.
After Lassie left, Evelyn didn't get busy; instead, she leaned back in her chair and contemplated her approach to The Kyte Family in Colombia.
She wasn't eager to return to The Kyte Family, but to bring Ella, the woman from last night, to The Kyte Family for accountability. Ella's name was something she learned from Dermot that morning.
She didn't ask how Dermot knew, nor did she care if he had done anything to Ella. Since Ella had tried to kill her, Evelyn was no saint; she couldn't possibly help her.
Going to The Kyte Family, she couldn't approach the lady of The Kyte Family, or she'd be walking into a trap. She had to find her father.
But did her father know what the lady of The Kyte Family had done?
Never mind, she wouldn't dwell on it now. She'd deal with it when the time came.
With that thought, she returned to studying Lassie Baker's grandfather's medical case. Though the chances of surgery success were slim, the word 'failure' wasn't in Evelyn's vocabulary. She had to succeed.
In Colombia, The Kyte Family.
Ella hadn't sent any news of success, which made Dora Kyte anxious.
Could it be a failure?
That seemed impossible.
Ella was almost unmatched in Colombia, let alone in Moris City. She should have easily handled someone like Evelyn.
But days had passed with no word, and Dora couldn't help but worry.
"What are you thinking about?" At the dining table, Blake Kyte observed Dora with an inquisitive look.
He had long sensed something off about her, and considering Ella hadn't been seen in recent days, he couldn't help but speculate.
He had previously thought Dora wasn't bold enough, so he hadn't asked. But now...
