Chapter 424 Is It Still Her Fault?

Lassie looked at Dermot, who was filled with anger, feeling a bit scared.

"I'll leave if there's nothing else. Goodbye!" She waved her hand and quickly walked away, afraid that Dermot might attack her if she walked too slowly.

Although she wasn't sure what was going on exactly, she understood one thing; she seemed to have said something she shouldn't have. She knew that it would be best to slip away quickly.

After Lassie left, Dermot still stood in the same spot, his head throbbing. Without much time to think, he quickly left the office and drove to Eveyln’s Apartment. Regardless, he needed to explain first, and they could go public with the news of their breakup tomorrow.

When Dermot arrived at Evelyn's doorstep, it was already midnight, and she was asleep. But Dermot still knocked on her door, feeling that if he didn't explain, and clearly, the misunderstandings between Evelyn and Dermot will only grow bigger.

Evelyn was already in a bad mood, and she had finally fallen asleep when she was abruptly awakened. And to make matters worse, when she opened the door, it was Dermot standing there. Who could understand her frustration?

“Evey”…"

"Mr. Doyle, could you please tell me what time it is? Do you know what it means to disturb someone?" Evelyn felt that Dermot was being a nuisance and not considering her feelings at all. Selfish! Too selfish!

Seeing her sleepy eyes, Dermot knew he had disturbed her. "I'm sorry, I just wanted to explain..."

"Explain what?" Evelyn interrupted him, leaning against the door frame, finding it all rather ridiculous.

Lassie had just paid her a visit, and now Dermot had come right after. She could guess what it was all about. But what did it have to do with her? She didn't care.

"It's about my father. I didn't mean to hide it from you," Dermot spoke, feeling uncomfortable with Evelyn's current attitude towards him. Evelyn looked at him coldly, not saying a word.

"I just thought that his existence was unnecessary for you to know about. I wanted to resolve it before telling you, but I didn't expect..." Dermot didn't expect Lassie to come and tell Evelyn beforehand.

Evelyn remained indifferent, unmoved by Dermot's explanation. "Mr. Doyle, why do you need to explain this much to me? We've been broken up for a long time. What does your father have to do with me?"

“Evey, I didn’t really want to break up with you. It’s just that at that time”…"

"I don't care about the circumstances," Evelyn interrupted him, looking at him. "All I know is that we've broken up."

"If I had no other choice, would you still not care?" Dermot looked at Evelyn in anguish. The reason he broke up with her was to protect her, but hearing her say this now, it felt like a knife to his heart.

Evelyn shook her head. "I don't care. I only care about the outcome." The outcome was that they had broken up.

"I will announce tomorrow that Lassie and I have broken up," Dermot said, trying to make some kind of effort.

But instead of changing her mind, Evelyn's attitude became even worse. "Mr. Doyle, if you continue to disregard people's emotions like this, be careful of karma."

Just a short while ago, Lassie had mentioned a few days, but now Dermot was so eager to break up. He was truly a scumbag!

Dermot smiled. He didn't care about people's emotions? If that were true, why would he be here today? Standing in front of her, he suddenly felt that Evelyn didn't understand him at all, and, maybe, she had never believed in him.

As their eyes met, they could both see the disappointment in each other's eyes. Evelyn didn’t understand why Dermot was disappointed in her. Was it her fault?

How ridiculous!
