Chapter 982: What Are You Saying
Soon, a plate of dipping sauce landed in front of Dermot. The strong mustard smell hit him, and he was at a loss for words. "Is this for me?"
"Aren't you a big mustard fan?" Evelyn asked, puzzled.
Dermot was speechless, realizing Evelyn was messing with him.
Forcing a smile, he said, "Yeah, I love mustard."
Keith and Sarah, sitting across, couldn't hear their low conversation but could tell their bond was more than just friends.
"Are Evelyn and Dermot a thing now?" Keith wondered, thinking they seemed more like a couple than he and Sarah, who were actually dating.
Sarah chuckled, unsure what to say. "Probably not yet."
Keith rolled her eyes.
Soon, the barbecue was served.
"Have some veggies," Evelyn said, handing Dermot some greens.
Looking at the veggies, Dermot asked, "What's with the sudden health kick?"
Evelyn was at a loss for words. She just thought Dermot didn't usually eat veggies, which wasn't healthy, so she handed him some.
"Eat it or don't, your call." She rolled her eyes.
Dermot's eyes twinkled with amusement. "I'll eat it. How could I refuse when you give me veggies?"
Evelyn snorted.
Sarah and Keith, sitting across, were speechless. "Seriously, have you guys thought about our feelings?"
Keith couldn't hold back. "Who's the real couple here?"
Evelyn coughed and moved away from Dermot.
"Trying to hide it," Keith teased.
Dermot just smiled and didn't explain.
Evelyn and he would be a couple sooner or later.
While they enjoyed their barbecue, the conversation between Aidan and Niall upstairs was tense.
In the study, Aidan looked serious. "Niall, I thought I made it clear last time. Why haven't you broken up with Lily yet?"
Not only had they not broken up, but Niall even brought her home for dinner with Aidan.
"Aidan, I've read everything you gave me. I know Lily made mistakes, but she's changed. She won't be like before," Niall explained.
At first, Niall was angry when he saw the materials, thinking Lily was not self-respecting.
But later, he began to understand her.
She came from a tough background, eager to break free and find a better future. There was nothing wrong with that.
Although she took the wrong path, she didn't actually harm anyone. Niall felt he could forgive her.
So, he hadn't even mentioned it to Lily, thinking that as they spent more time together, Aidan would eventually see Lily's good qualities and overlook her past.
"Niall! What are you saying?" Aidan felt like he was going mad.
"Aidan, Lily is really a good person. I believe she realizes her past mistakes, so let's give her another chance," Niall pleaded for both his and Lily's happiness.
