Chapter 838 How Many More Times Do You Want to Hurt Her?

Dermot and Joshua were about to start arguing, and Evelyn, sitting off to the side, felt a headache coming on.

She pretended to threaten. "If you two want to keep arguing, go ahead. I've got things to do, so I'm leaving."

She couldn't stop them, nor did she want to stick around and listen to their bickering, especially since it was about her. She just wanted to escape.

Hearing her words, both Dermot and Joshua fell silent at the same time. Neither of them spoke again.

Clearly, they didn't want Evelyn to leave.

Since they quieted down, Evelyn breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, they hadn't lost their minds.

Afterward, Joshua ordered a few more dishes, which kept Evelyn in the restaurant for another hour.

As they walked out of the restaurant, the two started arguing again about who would take her home. By the time they finished arguing and turned around, Evelyn was nowhere to be seen; she had already taken a cab and left.

Dermot chuckled, probably imagining how eager Evelyn was to leave.

Joshua couldn't understand why Dermot was still laughing. "Mr. Doyle, don't you realize that Evelyn really dislikes you? If I were you, I wouldn't bother her anymore."

"Really? I didn't get that vibe." Dermot shook his head with a smile. He actually thought Evelyn wasn't interested in Joshua; otherwise, she would have let Joshua take her home just now.

“Dermot!” Joshua was furious. "You've hurt Evelyn more than once. How many more times do you want to hurt her?"

Dermot's expression turned serious. He looked at Joshua and said solemnly, "I'm openly pursuing her. How did that hurt her in your eyes?"

He continued, "Joshua, if you really care about Evelyn, you should let her make her own choices instead of wasting time here with me."

He didn't want to waste time with Joshua. When Evelyn and Joshua were having dinner together, he hadn't shown up to interrupt them.

He firmly believed that people who were meant to be together would eventually end up together, no matter how long it took.

Joshua was hit where it hurt. The truth was, he lacked confidence, which was why he was so afraid of Evelyn getting close to Dermot.

He knew Evelyn had no intention of dating him. Otherwise, after all this time, there should have been some progress between them, rather than maintaining a polite distance.

On the surface, Evelyn seemed close to him. But in reality, he couldn't compare to Aidan and Niall, not even to Dermot. How could he not be anxious?

Dermot didn't continue the conversation and didn't care whether Joshua could figure it out. After saying his piece, he walked to his car and soon disappeared from the restaurant entrance.

After that day, Evelyn refused all invitations from Dermot and Joshua to have dinner. She didn't want the two of them to run into each other again.

So, she chose to dine alone.

However, she didn't expect to run into Wade, who seemed to be on a blind date in a randomly chosen restaurant.

Wade didn't notice her and was looking impatiently at Andrea Phillips, who was sitting across from him.

"Mr. Allen, what do you think of the food here?" Andrea asked with a smile.

Andrea was a beautiful and tender woman. Evelyn thought she was a good match for Wade.

Unfortunately, Wade replied with a frown, "Not great."

Andrea clearly didn't expect him to say that. After all, it was she who had chosen the restaurant.

Upon seeing Wade's impatient expression, Andrea didn't know if he was talking about the restaurant or her.
