Chapter 778 Do You Think I'm a Fool?
Upon hearing this, Blake sneered coldly, "Love me? So, how could you sleep with Percy? Dora, do you think I'm a fool?"
In the past, Blake rarely spoke so much to her. Today, his sudden verbosity left Dora a bit overwhelmed. She only said, "Blake."
"Just say it. What are your conditions for agreeing to the divorce??" Blake didn't have time to waste with Dora; the divorce was inevitable.
With his words, Dora realized there was no hope left. She moved from behind Blake to sit opposite him.
Looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar Blake, Dora felt a surge of infinite hatred. "I came today to make one last effort. I thought that after so many years of marriage, there would be some feelings left. If I softened up, maybe you would agree not to divorce."
She continued, "But now I understand, the only one with feelings is me, not you, Blake."
Blake remained indifferent, showing no reaction.
Dora took a deep breath. She had to try her best to control herself so that she wouldn't get angry at this moment.
"We can divorce, but I want half of the Kyte family assets," Dora stated her terms.
Blake glanced at her and said indifferently, "What do the Kyte family assets have to do with you? You must have forgotten the prenuptial agreement, right?"
Marriage in families like theirs, to prevent assets from being divided during marriage, they definitely had everything prepared. The most Dora could get was Blake's salary from the Kyte Group over the years and his annual dividends.
Unfortunately, he hadn't taken a salary from the Kyte Group, just some dividends.
"Blake, don't be so ruthless." Dora naturally understood these principles; she just didn't want to accept them.
If she couldn't get a share of the Kyte Group assets, she was afraid that she might end up with very little as Blake's personal assets weren't much, and he probably wouldn't let Dora take much either.
"Two houses in Golombia and two million dollars in cash," Blake directly stated his offer. The money was just to keep Dora quiet about the divorce and avoid letting outsiders know.
If it weren't for it, he wouldn't want to give Dora a single cent.
But Dora wasn't satisfied. She looked at Blake, even a bit shocked. "Two million dollars? Blake, you're too cruel, giving me so little money."
"If you think it's too little, you can refuse. If I file for divorce, you won't get any money at all." With what Dora had done, Blake had plenty of ways to ensure she got nothing.
Dora said through gritted teeth, "Aren't you afraid of letting outsiders know?"
"Let them know then. Outsiders will just laugh at me for a few days. As long as I'm still the head of the Kyte family, what can they do to me?" Blake wasn't afraid of such a little ridicule.
If it weren't for the fact that letting outsiders know would affect not just him but also Evelyn, he wouldn't care at all.
Evelyn still had to get married in the future, and it was better to let such scandals remain unknown.
Dora was seething with anger, but confronting Blake's fearless demeanor, she really had no leverage. "Two million dollars is too little, at least ten million dollars."
By rights, Blake should give Dora a hundred million dollars, even two hundred million dollars, but Blake was too shrewd to give her that chance.
"Dora, get it straight. You're the one who did wrong. If you really want to let outsiders know, I don't care. But have you thought about how it will affect Lucia?" Blake looked at Dora, thinking she was too foolish.
Seeing Dora remain silent, Blake continued, "Lucia and Wade are still engaged. If this gets out, how do you think the Allen family will view Lucia? Will they take the opportunity to cancel the engagement? You better think it through."
Having said these, Blake didn't say any more.
