Chapter 185 Evelyn Buried

Inside the cave, Evelyn followed the sound of crying and found the location of the two children.

Fortunately, they were lucky enough to be hiding in a corner, forming a stable triangular area, so they were not crushed by the collapsed house.

Evelyn walked over and called out, "Mia, Ethan, are you injured?"

The two children were startled by the sudden voice, but when they saw that it was Evelyn, they burst into tears.

"Eve!"

Both children crawled towards Evelyn, bending their bodies, and only stopped crying when she hugged them tightly.

Evelyn comforted them until their sobbing subsided before asking, "Are you hurt?"

They shook their heads, but soon tears filled their eyes again. "Mom and Dad, they are still inside..."

Evelyn looked in the direction they pointed and saw only a collapsed wall. She could infer that the Jenkins couple were in another room.

Having been inside for so long without hearing a sound from them, Evelyn knew the situation was not optimistic. If they couldn't save them, the chances of survival were slim.

She said to the two children, "Sis will carry you out first, and then I'll come back to rescue your mom and dad, alright?"

"Okay," the two children nodded.

Evelyn picked up Mia and headed towards the cave entrance. After successfully getting her out, she returned to carry Ethan.

"Eve, Mom and Dad will be okay, right?" Five-year-old Ethan curled up in Evelyn's arms, understanding more than his three-year-old sister.

Evelyn's heart felt heavy as she replied, "Sis will do her best. You have to believe that Mom and Dad will try their hardest. They want to see you and your sister."

"Okay," Ethan didn't say anything else.

As they were about to reach the cave entrance, a loud rumbling sound could be heard. Evelyn crouched in the corner with Ethan in her arms.

"Aftershock!"

Someone yelled from above, and they had to retreat to avoid being affected by the collapsing house and falling rocks.

A few minutes later, when the aftershock ended, everyone rushed over to check almost. But when they saw that the previously exposed cave entrance was blocked, silence fell upon them.

It was the village chief who reacted first and shouted at everyone, "What are you all standing there for? Hurry up and dig!"

when he spoke, no one hesitated, and they started digging.

Just as the rumbling sound began again, and the crowd thought it was another aftershock and prepared to run, someone looked up and froze in place.

"A helicopter?" the villagers couldn't be sure.

But the village chief, being knowledgeable and experienced, realized, "It's the rescue team! We're saved!"

"Hey! We're here!" someone shouted at the helicopter, trying to get their attention.

However, they were unaware that the helicopter had flown higher and because of the altitude, no one could hear them.

Dermot looked at the ground and could only see the collapsed ruins, unable to see any figures.

"Are we there yet?" he asked the driver in front.

"According to the coordinates, Willowbrook should be," the driver replied.

"Prepare for landing."

The driver began to slowly descend the plane.

There weren't many flat areas in the entire Willowbrook, and after just experiencing an earthquake, the only place where a helicopter could land was the vacant lot in front of the radio station.

The villagers saw the helicopter landing and moved aside, eagerly and curiously watching this big thing they had never seen before.

As Dermot got off the plane, the village chief came forward and said, "Comrade, you are here to rescue us, right? Please save Dr. Kyte!"
