Chapter 310 You're Threatening Me
"Mature and stable," Sarah replied.
Keith chuckled lightly, scratching his nose in a somewhat helpless manner. "It seems like I have no connection with you at all."
"Keith, I really don't understand why you like me. You're surrounded by young and beautiful women, so there's no need for you to waste your time on me," she said, not believing that Keith genuinely liked her. She suspected that it was just a passing interest for him.
Most playboys had this mindset, and she was well aware of that.
Keith understood the meaning behind her words but didn't give up. Instead, he asked, "Do you think I'm just playing around?"
Sarah didn't answer, but her eyes already gave away the answer to that question.
"If I say I'm not, would you believe me?" Keith smiled bitterly. If he had known that all those tabloid stories from the past would cause him trouble today, he never would have acted like a playboy.
Sarah shook her head, her expression serious. "Whether you are or not, I don't care."
"I don't know if Evelyn has told you, but I've been divorced before." Sarah had no intentions of starting a new relationship, so she didn't mind letting Keith know about her past marriage. She just wanted him to give up on her sooner.
Evelyn hadn't actually mentioned it to him, but Keith had guessed as much, so he wasn't particularly surprised to hear this.
Nonchalantly, Keith said to Sarah, "So what if you've been divorced? I don't care!"
"I've been divorced and I'm older than you. I just can't understand why you like me," Sarah genuinely couldn't comprehend it. Keith, after all, was the CEO of the Kartland Group and had no shortage of young and beautiful women around him. It didn't make sense for him to like her.
"You can't control who you like," he sighed helplessly. Ever since he had first seen Sarah, he had realized that he was paying too much attention to her. It was an uncontrollable kind of attention.
Later on, he gradually came to understand that it was love.
Love couldn't be controlled.
Feeling like she couldn't get through to him, Sarah decided to say it straight out, "Don't waste your time on me. I'm not interested in you."
"You're rejecting me so decisively, huh? Are you really not going to give me a chance?" Keith felt helpless. She had rejected him outright. Who was he going to talk to this about?
Sarah glared at him, her tone serious, "No chance."
"Alright, alright. Even if there's no chance, can't we at least be friends? Go out for a meal or something?" Keith wasn't giving up and continued to ask.
Sarah shook her head, knowing fully well Keith's intentions, "I'm busy. I don't have time to accompany you for meals."
"Oh? Since that's the case, then I'll have to reconsider the brand's presence in the mall," Keith smiled and looked towards Evelyn, who was behind them. "You're wasting the cooperation she worked so hard for."
Sarah instantly became furious, "You're threatening me!"
"Yes, you're threatened," Keith confirmed with a confident smile, his voice firm and determined.
This way of thinking is not wrong." He did not deny that he was always ruthless in his actions, as long as the result was good, it seemed that the method was not so important.
Sarah gritted her teeth with hate, wishing she could beat someone up, but she could only bear it, "The matter at the mall has already been settled, you can't go back on your word."
"That depends on your attitude," Keith said.
Sarah took a deep breath and thought to herself that she just needed to endure it. As long as they waited for the contract to be signed, Keith wouldn't have a chance to go back on his word even if he wanted to.
With this in mind, she nodded and said, "Fine, it's just a meal, I won't lose out."
"That's right, we're all friends, what's the big deal about having a meal together." Keith smiled brightly when she agreed, ignoring whether she was cursing at him in her mind or not.
