Chapter 831 Let Him Go Once
Evelyn and Joshua strolled along, oblivious to the car following them.
Dermot couldn't figure out his own feelings. Although he appeared indifferent on the surface, he was burning with jealousy. That's why he lingered at the restaurant entrance, refusing to leave.
He watched Evelyn and Joshua finish their meal, saw them chatting and laughing, and then watched them leave the restaurant together. Even now, he still wouldn't go.
Finally, he followed them to the concert hall entrance and only stopped when they went inside.
He sighed and muttered to himself, "Dermot, are you nuts? Evelyn won't like you acting like this."
After thinking it over, Dermot started his car and decided not to wait any longer. He had more important things to do.
Blake didn't expect to see Dora again. He thought after getting the money, she'd stay far away and never show up in front of him again.
But there she was, bold as ever, acting like he wouldn't deal with her.
"What are you doing here?" Blake glared at her coldly. When they were married, he didn't like her, but he wasn't too harsh. Now, he didn't bother hiding his disdain.
Dora wasn't fazed by his attitude. She was here to ask for a favor, so she had to play nice.
She gave Blake a shy smile and asked, "Have you eaten? I can cook for you."
As she spoke, she headed towards the kitchen, but Blake wasn't having it.
"No need. You weren't so diligent before, and now even if you cook a hundred times, it won't matter."
Dora stopped, feeling awkward, and didn't continue to the kitchen. Instead, she sat beside Blake.
Blake frowned, clearly annoyed, and stood up immediately. "What do you want?"
"I'm here to plead for the Roberts family," Dora hesitated but finally said. As a member of the Roberts family, she couldn't just stand by.
Blake couldn't help but sneer at her words. "Plead for the Roberts family? Really?"
Blake continued, "Let's not even talk about whether you have the right to ask me for this favor. Eugene, who doesn't value human life, is just getting what he deserves."
He had heard from the police that Eugene was unlikely to get the death penalty. Blake thought Eugene's sentence was too light; even a thousand death sentences wouldn't be enough.
Dora didn't argue but nodded. "He did mess up this time, but Eugene is the only heir of the Roberts family. If something happens to him, the family is done for."
"Hasn't the Roberts family already lost all hope?" Blake retorted.
Dora felt awkward. Although that might be true, the Roberts family still had money. If they didn't cause trouble, they could still live as a wealthy family.
"Blake, I know you hate Eugene, but I beg you to spare him this once. If you do, I promise to make him disappear from your life forever, even leave the country, and never come back," Dora pleaded.
Blake looked at her coldly, finding it laughable. "What makes you think I would agree? He almost killed my daughter."
"Yes, he did almost kill Evelyn, but... please, for the sake of the daughter I bore you, spare him this once," Dora said.
She didn't want to get involved, but the Roberts family had come to her, and Eugene was her nephew. It was hard to refuse.
