Chapter 815 What Do You Want?
The moment Evelyn saw the bombs strapped all over Eugene's body under his coat, her first thought was to escape.
However, Eugene clearly had no intention of giving her that chance. He looked at her and sneered. "You'd better stay right where you are and not make any sudden moves. If I detonate it now, everyone here will suffer."
With that, Evelyn didn't dare to move. Regardless of whether Eugene would actually detonate the bombs or not, if she made any move, that would endanger everyone, and other families would target the Kyte family once this was over.
She couldn't risk it.
"Good, it seems Ms. Kyte is a smart woman." Eugene was pleased that she didn't move. Holding a remote in one hand and pulling Evelyn with the other, he walked towards the stage.
Once on stage, he picked up the microphone and looked at the crowd below. "Ladies and gentlemen, glad to see you all again."
The crowd remained silent, but he didn't care.
"It seems none of you are happy to see me." He chuckled, though it was unclear whom he was mocking.
"Don't even think about leaving. Let me make it clear. I've planted bombs all over the venue. If anyone tries anything, I guarantee they won't leave here alive."
The crowd could no longer remain silent. Initially, they thought the bombs were only on Eugene, and as long as they stayed away, only Evelyn would die, and the rest would be unaffected.
But now, he claimed there were bombs all over the venue. Wasn't he planning to kill them all?
The crowd instantly descended into chaos. Some timid women began to cry softly; they clearly hadn't experienced such a situation.
However, there were still some brave people who didn't believe Eugene could plant bombs throughout the entire venue. They thought he was bluffing.
With that in mind, some people started heading towards the exit.
Boom!
An explosion rang out, and those who were trying to sneak out were instantly blown away, their bodies mangled and bloody.
Screams and cries filled the venue. Even Evelyn on stage couldn't believe what she was seeing.
She turned to Eugene and asked, "How could you dare to detonate the bomb?"
"Why wouldn't I dare? I never planned to leave here alive today." The Roberts family had gone bankrupt. Overnight, he went from being the esteemed Mr. Roberts to someone everyone looked down upon. The disparity was too much for him to endure.
Evelyn thought he was insane. She tried to control herself and not provoke him. "Even though the Roberts family is bankrupt, the wealth accumulated over the years is more than enough for you to live a lavish life. Why do you have to do this?"
"Wealth? You don't get it." To Eugene, he wanted more than just wealth. He wanted power and for others to bow down to him. Just having money brought him no sense of accomplishment.
Evelyn didn't understand at all. She looked down at Blake and Joshua, signaling them to try to calm the crowd and prevent any further explosions.
Without her saying anything, Blake and Joshua were already trying to calm everyone down, but it wasn't very effective. Many people even started blaming the Kyte family; if it hadn't been for them pushing Eugene to this point, none of it would have happened.
"What do you want?" Evelyn looked at the man beside her. Since Eugene hadn't detonated the bombs immediately upon entering, he must have a purpose.
Eugene ignored her and instead looked at the noisy crowd, shouting irritably, "Everyone shut up! You're driving me crazy."
The crowd instantly fell silent, and the venue became eerily quiet.
