Chapter 177 I Am the Bystander
Dermot said, "Is she angry? I feel like she doesn't care at all."
What he wanted was to see a kind of difference on Evelyn's face, whether it be anger or resentment, but... he didn't see anything.
That woman gave him the feeling that she didn't care, no matter who he was with or whether he protected her or not.
"You are the bystander, and I am sure Evelyn is angry," Grandpa Doyle affirmed.
Dermot glanced at his grandfather, unable to distinguish the truth in his words. the other party could say anything to match him up with Evelyn.
After pondering, Dermot said, "Maybe, but don't worry, I will handle it myself."
"Can you handle it?" Grandpa Doyle expressed doubt. "Make sure you don't make Evelyn hate you more."
Following Dermot's recent actions, this might be a possibility.
Dermot stared at his grandfather, thinking to, "Are you still my grandfather?"
"I'm going back now. You should get some rest," Dermot didn't plan to continue arguing with his grandfather; it was pointless.
Grandpa Doyle cheerfully called out, "Won't you stay here for the night? Doyle Manor is only for you."
Dermot: "..."
So Grandpa Doyle was poking at his sore spot, right?
Dermot walked away without looking back, and Grandpa Doyle wasn't upset either. He had just said it without expecting Dermot to stay.
His mood was excellent, and he said to Bruce who was behind him, "I told you they are a perfect match. They will be together in no time. It's destined."
"You are right," Bruce said.
At Barberts Apartment, when Evelyn finished packing her things and laid on the bed, it was midnight, but she couldn't fall asleep at all.
Her mind was filled with the image of Dermot pinning her against the wall, the lingering kiss, which made her restless.
Evelyn became even more agitated. She tossed and turned on the bed, unable to sleep no matter what.
she decided to give up on sleep and got up from the bed. She turned on her computer and started working.
at the Barns family, after returning from the Doyle family's Doyal Mansion, Natalie locked in her room and vented her emotions until she had fully let it all out. Only then did she leave the room and head to the study.
"Dad," she pushed the door open and entered, Francis gazed at her coldly.
"Didn't things go smoothly at the Doyle family's Doyal Mansion?" It was just a remark.
There was no need to doubt, as Natalie's outburst in the next room had said it all. Natalie nodded, looking at her father. "I agree to marry into the Stanley family."
"Oh?" Francis was a bit surprised, thinking Natalie had come over to ask for more time again.
"I thought about it, and instead of marrying someone who doesn't love me, I'd rather marry into the Stanley family. At least the fat guy in the Stanley family isn't as difficult as Dermot." Natalie knew that if she married Dermot.
With Dermot, she would always be in a passive position. But it was different with the Stanley family. She had interacted with the fat guy a few times, and he seemed foolish.
Natalie thought that if she married into the family, she might be able to take control of the Stanley family.
Marrying Dermot seemed hopeless, and taking over the Barns family seemed unlikely. The Stanley family was her only way out.
Francis was pleased that she had realized that and had a smile on his face. "That's right. I've always told you that the Stanley family is sincere, and if you marry into it, you'll live a good life."
"Yes, you're right," Natalie said, bowing her head, her hidden resentment unseen by anyone.
