Chapter 419 Breakup? So soon?

Dermot was in his office when he called Lassie on his phone.
"Hey, boyfriend, what's up?" Lassie was getting a manicure outside and was surprised to receive a call from Dermot. After all, it was the first time they had spoken on the phone since publicly announcing their relationship.

Noticing that she referred to him as her boyfriend, Dermot's face didn't look too good. However, he didn't argue about it and went straight to the point. "I'm preparing a statement to announce our breakup. You should prepare on your end as well."

Since they were still in a working relationship, Dermot felt obligated to inform her in advance to avoid any embarrassing situations.

"Breakup? So soon?" Lassie was taken aback. They had only publicly announced their relationship less than two days ago. She couldn't believe they were already breaking up. If her parents found out, they would surely scold her.

"Yeah, I've sorted things out on my end." In other words, there was no need for them to continue being together.

Lassie couldn't help but complain, "You're so heartless. What am I to you? Just a tool?"

Frowning, Dermot seemed dissatisfied. "What do you mean? Wasn't this what we agreed on before?"

"I didn't know you would want to break up so soon. My parents had just calmed down for two days, and now if I tell them we're breaking up, they'll think it's my fault." Lassie was unhappy. She didn't want to break up.

Without a shield, life would become difficult.

"What do you want then?" Dermot was starting to get annoyed. If he hadn't restrained himself, he might have lost his temper already.

After thinking for a moment, Lassie finally said to him, "Give me a few more days. At least let me find a new boyfriend so my parents won't be too angry."

"A few days?" Dermot questioned.

"Seven or eight days?" she tried saying.

Dermot remained silent, but even through the phone, Lassie could feel the chill in his voice. "How about three or four days?"

"Three days," he decided. "After three days, I will issue the statement, and then it's up to you."

After saying that, Dermot hung up the phone, not wanting to say another word to Lassie.

He regretted it a bit, feeling that this woman was completely unreliable. How annoying.

However, luckily it was only three days left. As long as he endured for three more days, there shouldn't be any major problems. He could take this opportunity to handle the company's affairs and explain everything clearly to Evelyn after three days. Then he could spend more time with her.

Dermot thought everything would be wonderful. At this moment, he had no idea what Evelyn was busy with, except that her bodyguard informed him that she had dinner with Greg again.

Despite being furious on the inside, he didn't go find her.

On the other side, Lassie put away her phone, feeling unhappy.

She never expected to be single again so quickly. Time flies indeed.

But she was curious about what kind of girl could make Dermot invest so much. Should she go meet her?

Thinking about it, she told the nail technician, "Hurry up, I have something to do."

After having dinner with Greg, Evelyn didn't rush back home. Instead, she went directly to the Kite family.

She didn't go to see Ruby because she knew Ruby wouldn't want her parents to leave familiar Moris City.

But Evelyn made a decision. She planned to tell Ruby's parents everything exactly as it happened, as she believed they wouldn't want to see their daughter being mistreated.

Although it wasn't her place to speak up, if she left it to Ruby, that girl would probably never say a word.

In that case, she would play the villain. As long as Ruby ends up fine, nothing else matters.
