Chapter 1362 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (37)
Watching Kurt walk away, Byron's face was all kinds of gloomy, with a hint of self-mockery.
Even Kurt looked down on him in this family. If Aidan could really take over the Lowe family's assets, it might actually be a good thing for him.
What went down at the Lowe Manor was something Aidan had no clue about. By now, he was already back at the villa.
He didn't come back super late, but it wasn't early either. Theodore was already knocked out, and Aidan didn't want to wake him.
He figured Phoebe would be asleep too, but as he passed her room, he saw her door open and the light on. She was still up. He knocked twice.
Phoebe got up and walked to the door, surprised to see Aidan knocking. He never usually sought her out after work.
"You're back. Hungry?" Phoebe asked.
"I've had dinner," Aidan replied, reminding her.
Phoebe chuckled and nodded. "I know, but I thought you might be hungry again after working so late."
"I'm not hungry," Aidan said, a bit speechless. He wasn't that much of an eater.
"Everything okay?" Phoebe thought of Byron coming to see him earlier and couldn't help but worry.
Given Aidan's attitude towards Sienna, his attitude towards Byron couldn't be much better. She was worried they might have clashed, mainly concerned that Aidan would suffer. But her worry was clearly unnecessary.
Aidan looked at her, his gaze falling on Phoebe's lips. "Worried about me?"
Phoebe was stunned, surprised by his words. She looked up and saw Aidan's undisguised gaze. She froze, thinking, 'Has he already fallen for me?'
Phoebe could hardly believe it, even thinking she was dreaming. "A little worried."
"Don't worry. I'm fine." Aidan chuckled, clearly in a good mood.
Phoebe nodded, confusion swirling in her mind, but she didn't ask him directly, afraid it was just her wishful thinking.
No one spoke again, and the atmosphere suddenly got quiet. Phoebe clasped her hands together, constantly pinching her fingers to relieve her nervousness. She wondered why Aidan sought her out late at night.
Aidan also felt a bit awkward. He had just seen that Phoebe was still awake and wanted to see her, but now that he was actually in front of her, he didn't know what to say.
After a brief silence, Aidan said, "Nothing much, just wanted to see if you were asleep."
Phoebe replied, "I see."
Aidan said, "Then you should rest early. See you tomorrow."
Phoebe quickly nodded. She really couldn't stand this awkwardness. "Okay, you rest early too. See you tomorrow."
As if suddenly thinking of something, just as Phoebe was about to close the door, Aidan grabbed her. "By the way, there's a party tomorrow night. Are you free?"
Phoebe was very puzzled.
Aidan said, "I'd like to invite you to be my date."
Phoebe could hardly believe it. If Aidan weren't still in front of her, she might have jumped up in excitement. She told herself inwardly to stay composed. She couldn't embarrass herself in front of Aidan.
"Why ask me? Aren't you afraid people will misunderstand our relationship?" Phoebe asked, hearing her own heartbeat quicken.
