Chapter 34

"You go ahead," Dermot said, surprised that someone was giving him advice. It was new.

"I don't think Mr. Doyle is simply afraid of the dark, there may be some psychological reasons. If you have time, Mr. Doyle should see a psychologist." She said.

Psychological issues can be big or small, especially for someone like Dermot who has been under a lot of pressure for years. Problems that are kept inside can become more serious over time.

She really wanted to help him, but when Dermot heard her words, he instantly turned black-faced.

"Mr. Doyle, psychological problems are just an illness, there's no need to resist it too much," Evelyn continued, watching his face darken even more and feeling helpless.

"Enough!" Dermot angrily interrupted her, his eyes now looking at her like an enemy.

"I don't need Dr. Kyte to worry about whether I have a problem or not." With that, he walked into his room, slamming the door shut behind him.

"This man..." Evelyn had no words and felt angry.

Back in her own apartment, Evelyn cooked instant noodles for herself, still holding onto her anger.

"Good deeds never go unpunished!" she thought to herself.

As she muttered to herself, the doorbell suddenly rang. Evelyn was surprised, but went to open the door anyway.

"Assistant Wu?" She was even more surprised. "Did you knock on the wrong door?"

After all, she and Dermot lived across from each other, so Assistant Wu could have easily knocked on the wrong door.

But Todd shook his head and handed her something. "Dr. Kyte, this is the congee that Mr. Doyle instructed me to buy for you. Please eat it while it's hot."

Evelyn's eyes widened in surprise. "Dermot asked you to buy this?"

"Yes," Todd nodded.

Evelyn took the congee, still feeling puzzled. Maybe Dermot had seen her with the instant noodles and asked Todd to buy it for her.

But when did that man become so kind?

"If there's nothing else, I'll leave now. Goodbye, Dr. Kyte." With the delivery made, Todd didn't stay any longer.

"Assistant Wu," Evelyn called him back, hesitating before saying, "Do you know about Dermot's fear of the dark?"

"Yes," Todd's face became serious. "I hope Dr. Kyte won't tell anyone else, otherwise Mr. Doyle will be in danger."

When one is in Dermot's position, they shouldn't have any weaknesses. But unfortunately, he did, and it was a very serious one.

If those with bad intentions knew about it, they could use it against him.

Evelyn understood this and nodded. "His condition can still be changed, you should take him to see a psychologist."

"Do you really think Mr. Doyle will go?" Todd smiled wryly.

Um... Evelyn thought about Dermot's attitude just now and shook her head. If that man would go, it would be a surprise.

"So, we can only try our best not to let others know about this, and protect Mr. Doyle's safety." He said.

Evelyn frowned. "But if left untreated, his condition will become more and more severe, maybe one day he won't even dare to go out at night."

It wasn't an exaggeration, psychological issues were like this – if they weren't resolved, they would become more and more severe over time.

Todd also frowned, full of worry. "Thank you for reminding me, Dr. Kyte. I will do my best to persuade Mr. Doyle."

With that, Todd left and Evelyn returned to her living room.

Looking at the steaming bowl of congee in front of her, she still felt a little surreal. She never thought that one day she would be eating the congee that Dermot bought for her.

It was unreal.
