Chapter 703: Find a Boyfriend and Have Him Marry into the Kyte Family
Evelyn felt exasperated. Initially, she had not anticipated discussing marriage when she came here to talk about resigning.
She glanced at the documents spread out on the table, and Blake had considerately opened each one for her to view the photos of the potential suitors at a glance.
Despite their youth and attractiveness, she had no desire to seek a husband.
"You're overthinking, aren't you?" Evelyn laughed awkwardly, not knowing what to say.
Blake disagreed. He reasoned with Evelyn, "You don't have an interest in managing the company, and these individuals are handpicked by me for grooming. If you were to marry one of them, wouldn't that offer the best of both worlds?"
Evelyn's mouth twitched, unable to muster a smile. "It does seem like the best of both worlds."
"I understand if you're reluctant, but it's merely a suggestion. If you don't find these individuals suitable, you may bring someone you prefer in the future, and I will personally groom him. Ultimately, as long as he can take over the Kyte Group, that's what matters." Despite his trust in these individuals, they weren't family. Blake still felt more comfortable entrusting the Kyte Group to his own family.
Evelyn didn't want to argue with him. It was still early, so she just agreed, "Alright, alright, whatever you say."
"So you're agreeing?" Blake smiled.
"Agreeing to what?" Evelyn shook her head. She hadn't agreed to anything.
"Agreeing to find a boyfriend, and let him marry into the Kyte family." Blake said. He unwilling to let Evelyn marry out.
Moreover, if Evelyn married out, who would manage the Kyte Group?
Evelyn held her forehead, indicating a headache, "How can I guarantee that? What if my future boyfriend doesn't want to?"
"Then can't you find someone who does?" Blake was unhappy. If Evelyn also married out, and he didn't have to manage the Kyte Group anymore, would he have to spend his days staring at Dora at home?
Recalling that moment filled him with fear. Evelyn let out a sigh and tried to reassure him, "We can discuss this later. You're still young, and there's plenty of time ahead. You can handle the Kyte Group for years to come."
"Young? At my age, I am getting old." Blake sighed, not feeling young at all.
Evelyn didn't want to continue this topic, so she asked, "So it's settled about my resignation. I won't come to the company from tomorrow."
"Alright, whatever you say." Blake nodded, not stopping her.
"Then I'll be leaving." Wade was still waiting for her downstairs, and it would impolite to keep him waiting too long.
Blake quickly caught on to her urgency and gestured for her to stop, but he couldn't resist reminding her, "Make sure to stay away from Wade to prevent any issues with Lucia."
Although he knew Lucia and Evelyn didn't get along, Blake still hoped that after Lucia got married, they could at least maintain a surface harmony.
"Anyway, I won't actively seek trouble with Lucia. If Lucia seeks trouble with me, I won't hold back." She felt she needed to make this clear to Blake in advance, to avoid being called heartless later.
Blake sighed, naturally understanding what Evelyn meant, "Alright, I got it."
"Then I'll be leaving." Evelyn waved and then turned to leave Blake's office.
Blake, with Evelyn out of sight, shook his head and sighed, dreading the potential clash between Lucia and Evelyn.
He realized the urgent need to arrange Lucia's marriage swiftly, hoping that once she was married, there would be fewer opportunities for conflict between Lucia and Evelyn.
