Chapter 1304: This Is My Trust in You

At the Doyle Group, Dermot hung up and chuckled, feeling a mix of amusement and helplessness. Evelyn's request was a real head-scratcher.

She wanted him to dig up dirt on the young women around him. Wasn't she worried he might get interested in someone else?

He tossed the task to Todd, who was freaking out. "Mr. Doyle, are you serious? You and Ms. Kyte are about to tie the knot."

Doing something like this before the wedding—if Evelyn found out, would the wedding still be on?

Todd had seen Evelyn and Dermot go through a lot to get here. He just wanted them to have a smooth, happy wedding.

"What are you thinking? This is her idea." Dermot shot him a look. Did Todd really think he was the type to mess around?

Todd let out a sigh of relief but was still confused. "Ms. Kyte's idea? Why?"

"You've been yapping a lot lately." Dermot glanced at him. Maybe because Todd had been around him for so long, Dermot felt Todd wasn't as scared of him anymore and would even joke around sometimes.

Was he really that approachable now?

Dermot didn't notice, but Todd sure did. Dermot used to be all business, but ever since Evelyn came into the picture, he'd softened up, losing that icy edge.

Todd didn't ask more questions and just did what he was told. "The hotel's already getting things ready for the wedding."

"Okay, what about the wedding dress?" Dermot asked.

"Gaulandia's rushing it, and it'll be here on time," Todd replied.

Dermot nodded, satisfied, and then asked about the rings and other wedding stuff. Only after making sure everything was on track did he feel at ease.

Meanwhile, after hanging up with Dermot, Evelyn started going through the info she had gathered.

In her eyes, these girls were all top-notch and gorgeous. If she were a guy, she'd probably be into each one of them.

Her phone rang. She was annoyed by the interruption but answered when she saw it was Luke calling.

If Luke didn't call her, she often forgot she had a family business to run.

But she took his call because of what Henry had said; she decided to meet Benjamin.

"Evelyn, have you forgotten you own a company?" Luke's voice was full of irritation as soon as the call connected.

Evelyn chuckled awkwardly and asked, "Have you eaten yet? How about I take you out for dinner?"

"Don't think a meal will make me keep working for you," he replied, exasperated. He'd never met a boss like Evelyn; she seemed totally unconcerned that he might run the company into the ground.

"Don't be like that. It's because I trust you," Evelyn countered. "I believe in your ability to manage the company, which is why I don't stress too much."

Luke sneered, "Come to the company."

"I'm not going to the company. Let's have dinner tonight, and bring your dad along," Evelyn said.

Luke frowned, thinking he misheard. "Bring him? Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I have something to discuss with him." Evelyn knew this was sudden, but she didn't have Benjamin's contact info and could only meet him this way.

Luke found it odd. Evelyn and Benjamin weren't close, and it seemed Benjamin had even been hostile to Evelyn before. What could she want to discuss with him now?

Though puzzled, he didn't refuse. Whatever it was, they'd find out at dinner.
