Chapter 870 Do You Think I'm Doomed?
Otis felt somewhat dissatisfied. Since there was such an arrangement, why wasn't he informed? Clearly, they didn't trust him.
He was fuming inside, but he wisely chose not to dwell on it. . The priority now was to get rid of Dermot. As for other matters, they could be dealt with after Dermot was gone.
Gunfire erupted all around. It was evident that Gerald was serious this time, with an unknown number of people ambushed in the dark.Dermot was in deep trouble.
It was partly his fault for being so careless. He never thought they'd go this far. He thought, 'Aren't they worried about the fallout?'
The Doyle family was still under Randy's control.
'Aren't they scared Randy would find out about the shooting?' As Dermot pondered this, another bullet hit his thigh.
But he kept moving. He had to get out of there as quickly as possible.
Pain shot through his arm and thigh, but it only made him more alert.
He wondered why Gerald and Otis really dared to shoot illegally, considering the fact that the Doyle family was still under Randy's control.
With that thought, Dermot pieced it all together.
He smirked. Clearly, they couldn't wait any longer.
Soon, Dermot was backed up to the edge of a cliff. It was clear the ambushers didn't want to kill him outright but were driving him to the cliff, hoping he'd jump off.
He cursed under his breath, 'What a group of cowards!'
They wanted him dead but didn't want to take the blame, so they were forcing him to jump off the cliff.
Later, they could claim he accidentally fell, keeping the Doyle family's hands clean.
As for the bullet wounds, no one would ever know.
Standing at the cliff's edge, the gunfire stopped. He knew they were watching him. If he didn't jump, they'd start shooting again.
He sneered, showing no fear.
Looking back at the cliff, he got why they picked this spot. He'd had an accident in a similar place before, so if he fell, it would seem plausible.
"Dermot, quit stalling. Jump. Maybe you'll get lucky and survive again," Otis called out, keeping his distance.
"You think I'll die for sure if I jump, huh?" Dermot glanced at the cliff. He didn't believe the Doyle family was so sure he would die. Who could guarantee he wouldn't survive this time?
Otis grinned, "If you survive, then you're really lucky. I promise I won't come after you again."
The cliff wasn't like the last one. There was no water below; if he fell, he'd be shattered to pieces.
"Dermot, you have no other choice now," Otis said, looking smug.
Dermot shot him a look and said, "I hope you can keep laughing this loudly all the time."
With that, he turned and jumped off the cliff, vanishing from Otis's sight.
