"Phoebe, say something. Don't scare me." Evelyn was a bit panicked. Seeing Phoebe's grim face but not saying a word really worried her. She didn't know what was going on, but that only made her more anxious.
Phoebe sneered and didn't want to play guessing games with Evelyn. She directly asked, "You didn't really ask me to come over just to see Theodore, did you?"
"Phoebe."
"It was Aidan's idea from the start, right? He wants to marry into the Graves family, so he found an excuse to get me out of Aidan's villa to make room for them, right?" At this moment, Phoebe felt like she had seen through everything.
Evelyn's face also turned serious upon hearing this. As soon as the news of the Lowe family and the Graves family alliance came out, Aidan immediately arranged for the news to be deleted, fearing Phoebe would see it. "If he really wanted to send you away, he wouldn't need to send you to me. He could just ask you to leave directly. Why go through all this trouble?" Evelyn continued.
Phoebe felt uneasy and retorted, "Of course he wants me to leave, but he also wants Theodore to stay, so he had to choose this way."
In her view, Aidan just wanted to keep Theodore; otherwise, he would have asked her to leave long ago.
"Phoebe, with Aidan's current capabilities, even if he forcibly wanted to keep Theodore, what could you do?" Evelyn countered.
"If he dares to do that, I'll fight him to the death," Phoebe quickly said.
Evelyn looked at her without saying a word. They both knew that such words were meaningless. When the time came, even if Phoebe wanted to fight Aidan to the death, she probably wouldn't even be able to see him.
Phoebe took a deep breath and asked, "So what's really going on?"
Evelyn sighed and decided not to keep it from her any longer. She explained the whole situation.
After hearing the entire story, Phoebe was speechless. "So, the way to gain Sienna's trust is to follow her orders and marry into the Graves family?"
"Isn't it ridiculous? Sienna has never fulfilled her duties as a mother, yet she still wants to control Aidan this way." Evelyn found it laughable. If it were her, she would have confronted the Lowe family head-on long ago, rather than scheming like Aidan.
However, Evelyn could understand Aidan's choice. After all, the Brooks Group wasn't that big. If they were to confront the Lowe Group head-on, they would stand no chance. Gaining Sienna's trust wasn't a wrong move.
Hearing this, Phoebe started to feel a bit sorry for Aidan and thought, ' Such a proud person, yet he has to humble himself in front of Sienna. It must be very hard for him.'
Noticing her sympathy, Evelyn quickly said, "Phoebe, give Aidan a little more time. Once he resolves the Lowe family issues, I believe he will give you and Theodore a satisfactory answer."
"Really?" Phoebe didn't know what to say, but given the current situation, she didn't seem to have any other choice but to agree.
To be honest, she didn't have the courage and couldn't bear to separate from Aidan. Sighing inwardly, she said, "I want Aidan to tell me himself."
