Chapter 301 Your Petty Thoughts
Dermot was driving and ignored her, which made Emily Morgans feel a bit frustrated. However, she didn't give up and continued speaking, "Dermot, from now on, let's just be friends and take care of each other."
Dermot remained silent and only glanced at Evelyn. Upon receiving his gaze, Evelyn cleared her throat, and her expression suddenly turned cold as she turned to Emily Morgans.
"Cousin, Uncle wants me to bring you out so that you can work diligently, not think about other nonsense." Her voice was cold, and she wasn't being polite. "Out of respect for Uncle, I will arrange a job for you, but it doesn't mean you can relax. If you can't perform well and end up being fired, I will have to send you back."
"As for your petty thoughts..."
Evelyn paused for a moment, glanced at Dermot, and then continued, "I can choose to ignore them, but if you provoke someone you shouldn't, you should think about the consequences. I won't plead for you then."
Her words directly stunned Emily Morgans, and she remained speechless for a long time. Of course, she understood the meaning behind Evelyn's words, but she felt that Evelyn's words were too ruthless, which angered her. "Who said I want you to plead for me? Do you think you're so powerful?"
"That's even better. I never wanted to plead for you in the first place," Evelyn replied, turning her head away without looking at her.
The car continued driving, and after four to five hours, they finally returned to Moris City.
Emily Morgans had actually been to Moris City two years ago, but because she couldn't find a suitable job here, she returned to Tara Village. Now, returning once again, she realized that in just a few short years, Moris City had already changed completely.
Upon arriving at Barberts Apartment, Emily Morgans walked in with Evelyn and couldn't help but feel a little uneasy, seeing such a high-end community. However, she didn't show it on her face, "Evelyn, how much is the monthly rent here? It must not be cheap, right?"
"It's fine," Evelyn didn't give a specific answer. She didn't want Emily Morgans to know too much.
The group arrived at Evelyn's doorstep, and Dermot, who had been driving all day, didn't follow them inside. "You should rest early, and I'll go back."
"Thank you." Evelyn felt a bit guilty. This trip to Tara Village didn't provide Dermot with any fun; instead, he had been a driver for two days.
Dermot muttered to Marina, "It's not difficult being with you, but it's going to be tough for you in the future."
He was referring to Emily Morgans. With such a cousin by her side, Evelyn couldn't imagine how she wouldn't be in for a difficult time.
Dermot returned to his own home, and it wasn't until he closed the door that Emily Morgans finally came to his senses and couldn't believe it: "Dermot lives across from you?"
"Yes," Evelyn nodded, opening the door to let the two children inside. after instructing the children to freshen up, she allowed them to go to bed early. After all, they were children and were already very tired from the journey.
Emily Morgans stumbled into the room, still seemingly not fully comprehending the situation. It was not what she had imagined at all.
This was Dermot, the richest man in Moris City. How could he be living here?
Although the neighborhood seemed quite upscale, shouldn't the rich live in mansions and estates?
"Why would he be living here?" Emily Morgans couldn't help but ask in the end.
Evelyn looked at her and seemed to guess what she was thinking. "Why do you care where he lives? What does it have to do with you?"
"How does it not matter?"
He wasn't here, so she didn't need to pretend to be a lady anymore. She spoke directly, "Evelyn, I'll tell you straight up, I've set my sights on Dermot. This man is mine, don't think about trying anything with him."
