Chapter 267 You Don’t Understand
"Tomorrow, I have already made arrangements on this side." He smiled as he answered.
Evelyn frowned. "Tomorrow? So urgent?"
"I've actually been preparing for a while."
Aidan said, then continued, "Don't think too much, I just feel like the company's overseas business development isn't going well, so I want to seize the opportunity to expand our business abroad and strengthen the company."
"Oh." Evelyn replied, but she didn't believe his reason at all.
"On the days that I'm away, Evelyn, you can go to Niall for help if you have any problems. He is capable of helping you now." Aidan instructed, inevitably worried.
Evelyn nodded, feeling a bit sad. "Aidan, if you really worry about me that much, then don't leave..."
"Alright then, I'll leave. I was counting on you to protect me." Aidan didn't say anything, only Marina did, but the meaning was quite clear.
Not go? How could he possibly let go when he had to see Evelyn every day?
Evelyn pursed her lips and didn't say anything else, knowing that he had already made up his mind.
"I have surgery tomorrow so I won't be able to see you off." Evelyn spoke up, unsure of how to face Aidan leaving.
From childhood until now, it was as if they had never truly been apart.
Aidan froze, not forcing it. "Alright, work comes first. Aidan is not a child anymore, he doesn't need someone to see him off."
Evelyn didn't stay at Aidan's villa for long, the longer she stayed, the more sadness filled her heart.
After she left, Niall complained a little, "You clearly wanted Evelyn to see you off, why didn't you say it?"
"She's feeling upset, I know." In this situation, how could he bear to see her even more upset?
Niall shook his head and sighed, "I really don't know how the three of us ended up like this."
"It's my fault." Aidan smiled bitterly, if he hadn't lost control of his own heart, so many things wouldn't have happened.
Niall opened his mouth, wanting to say it wasn't his fault, but seeing Aidan like this, he ultimately kept the words to himself.
Forget it, let's give both sides some time.
The next day, Evelyn took a leave of absence and didn't go to work.
She woke up early, holding her phone with the flight information that Niall had sent her about Aidan's departure. He didn't say she had to go see him off, but the message was clear. I've sent you the flight information, whether you go or not is up to you.
There were still two hours until the flight took off, Aidan should have already left for the airport, but Evelyn hadn't decided whether she would go or not.
Just as she was agonizing over it, the doorbell rang, and she knew who it was without guessing.
Opening the door, she saw Dermot outside and wasn't surprised.
"I bought breakfast for you, want to eat some first?" Dermot said, carrying the breakfast inside. He could tell that Evelyn wasn't in a good mood and knew it was because of Aidan leaving.
Aidan's actions at the company had been quite noticeable these past few days, and he knew that there were quite a few people who knew he would temporarily leave Moris City.
Dermot thought it was quite good, giving both sides some time. The most important thing was that during this time, Aidan wouldn't appear to disturb him and Evelyn.
Of course, this idea was somewhat selfish, and he naturally wouldn't let Evelyn know.
"You eat, I don't have much of an appetite." She said, walking back to the sofa and curling up in one corner.
Dermot walked over and pulled her up from the sofa. "So what if Aidan is leaving? It's not a big deal."
"You don't understand." Evelyn didn't want to talk to him.
"I may not understand the sibling relationship between you two, but I do know that he's only temporarily leaving, not disappearing forever. There's no need to make it seem like a life and death separation." He had to be a bit sterner in his words, only then could he make Evelyn sober up.
"He will still come back. When he comes back, you are still siblings. Isn't that nice?"
