Chapter 415 Happiness is Relative
Greg took a sip of water and fell silent for a moment before nodding. "I have a vague impression. What happened? Did he offend you?"
"You could say that," Evelyn nodded and then asked him, "So, what do you think? Would you help me get back at him?"
Greg put down his water glass, slightly surprised. "I didn't expect you to ask for my help."
"To be honest, the Irvine family is not easy to deal with. I alone am no match for them. That's why I thought of asking for your help," Evelyn stated without any hidden intentions.
She continued, "The Irvine family's influence in Moris City should not be underestimated, and Craig is known for being ruthless. He's a difficult person to handle."
"Of course, there are benefits as well. If we can deal with the Irvine family, you can take over all their assets, and I won't ask for anything," Evelyn explained, understanding that to keep Ruby safe, the Irvine family needed to be eliminated for good.
Greg couldn't help but feel tempted. Besides getting involved with Dermot's project earlier, he hadn't done much since arriving in Moris City, so he was at a loss.
Seeing his hesitation, Evelyn spoke again, "If you find it too difficult, it's fine. I won't force you..."
"Evelyn, there's no need to challenge me. I promise to help you," Greg nodded enthusiastically.
Evelyn smiled and was about to speak when Greg interrupted, "However, you need to give me some time. I'll investigate the Irvine family first. If I think we have a chance, we'll figure out how to take them down. But if I don't see a chance of success, I can't risk the Hamilton family, right?"
"Okay," Evelyn thought that the Hamilton family, being a prominent Colombian family, should have no problem swallowing up a small family in Moris City.
With their plan settled, Evelyn took charge of gathering all the information on the Irvine family, while Greg started investigating Craig's background to assess if there was an opportunity.
In the bar, Craig was in a sour mood. Ruby had already become his, yet he still wasn't happy. He couldn't even clearly explain why.
His gaze landed on Dermot across the way...
Well, the person across from him was even unhappier than he was.
"What's the deal with you and that Lassie? Falling in love so quickly?" He hadn't asked before, but now that he had some free time, he decided to inquire.
Dermot put down his drink and casually replied, "It was just a fleeting romance."
"A fleeting romance? For whose benefit?" Craig asked.
Dermot didn't answer; instead, he gave him a disdainful look. Craig chuckled, "I thought you were doing it deliberately to make Evelyn jealous."
Dermot, of course, knew better. He couldn't possibly...Bored, doing this act was obviously for Benjamin to see, but Craig still asked even though he knew it clearly, clearly teasing him.
"Did Evelyn come to see you?" Craig asked, thinking about Evelyn's expression when she left in the afternoon as if she wanted to eat him, he felt that Evelyn would not let Ruby be around him.
If she wanted to deal with herself, it seemed that only Dermot could help.
Dermot shook his head, sensing that Craig's question was a bit strange. "What's wrong? Why are you asking like this?"
Craig told him about what happened in the afternoon and laughed, "I thought she would come to you for help."
If Evelyn didn't ask him for help, then who would she go to?
A name appeared in Dermot's mind, and he was almost certain that Evelyn must have gone to find Greg.
The already bad mood became even worse at this moment. He raised his hand and downed another glass of alcohol, making Craig burst into laughter.
Compared to Dermot, things seemed to be going much smoother on his side. Looking at it this way, his mood improved a lot.
Indeed, happiness is all about comparison.
