Chapter 1254: What Do You Know About Me
The dinner table was buzzing with laughter and chatter. After the meal, Dermot was like, "Hey, let's keep this party going at a bar!" I mean, getting engaged is a big deal, right? He wanted to celebrate with everyone.
Nobody had any objections, and Evelyn was cool with it too.
So, the crew moved from the restaurant to the bar, and the good vibes were everywhere.
Well, almost everywhere.
Craig tagged along but didn't crack a smile all night. Dude was just downing drinks, head down, which totally bummed Lydia out.
She didn't know Evelyn and Dermot that well, but since Ruby and Alex were gonna be there, she came along with Craig. She didn't want him to be all sad and alone.
Craig was sulking in a corner, and Lydia sat next to him, looking all worried. "Stop drinking," she said.
She tried to snatch the glass from his hand but no luck.
"I get that you're upset, but what good is this gonna do? You're just wrecking your body and solving nothing," she said, sounding all anxious and frustrated, but Craig wasn't having it.
Craig glanced at her, then knocked back his drink. "Why are you following me? Why aren't you having fun with them?"
Everyone should be having a blast together.
"I'm not tight with Dermot and Evelyn. I'm here because of you." Lydia didn't hide her feelings for Craig. Her gaze was intense, like, really intense.
When Craig met her eyes, he felt almost burned and quickly looked away. "Because of me? That's nuts."
"Why is it nuts? Can't I like you?" Lydia wasn't shy. From the day she started liking Craig, she never hid it.
Craig put down his glass, looking kinda interested. "Like me? What do you even like about me? What do you know about me?"
"Liking someone doesn't need a reason." She paused, then went on, "You never give me a chance, so how can I get to know you?"
"You don't even know me and you say you like me? Isn't that crazy?" Craig shook his head and reached for his glass again, not wanting to talk more.
Lydia quickly grabbed the glass from the table before he could. "Who says we can't like someone without knowing them first? If I like you, it means I like you no matter who you are. So, knowing you or not doesn't matter."
