Chapter 864 No Such Idea

When Aidan got back to the steakhouse, the food was already on the table, and Evelyn and Joshua were waiting for him.

"I'm sorry. I got caught up on a call," Aidan said, sitting down. He looked calm, at least to Evelyn.

Joshua gave him a quick look but didn't say anything. Aidan's business wasn't his concern.

As they ate, Phoebe walked in with a guy, either by chance or on purpose.

"Let's eat somewhere else," Phoebe said. She'd spotted Aidan and didn't want any misunderstandings.

But the guy with her said, "Why? This place is great. Didn't you say you wanted steak?"

Phoebe wanted to argue, but Evelyn and the others were already looking their way. She had no choice but to follow the guy to a table.

Evelyn was surprised. "Aidan, that's Phoebe. Didn't she used to like you?"

She teased Aidan, not expecting his face to change.

Aidan snapped, "Who cares about her?"

"Alright, I get it. You don't like her. She seems happy with that guy. They might even be married." Evelyn was curious, especially since Phoebe and Aidan had a history.

Aidan didn't look back, not interested in Phoebe. Evelyn didn't think much of it. As long as Phoebe didn't cause trouble like she did in Moris City, Evelyn wouldn't bother her.

Joshua glanced at Phoebe, then at Aidan, sensing something was off.

If he remembered right, Aidan's trouble abroad involved someone named Phoebe.

He thought, 'Could it be the same Phoebe?'

Given Aidan's reaction, it seemed likely.

"Aidan, you're old enough to get married. If you find the right person, you should settle down," Evelyn said.

Aidan was in his thirties, past the usual age for marriage.

Aidan hadn't expected to run into Phoebe, and now Evelyn was pushing him to get married. He was speechless.

Aidan glared at her. "We haven't seen each other in a while, and now you're meddling in my life. Are you planning to introduce me to someone?"

Evelyn grinned. "If you're open to it, why not?"

"Forget it. I'm not interested. I'm focused on work," Aidan said, waving her off.

The conversation was going off track, and Evelyn seemed serious about setting him up.

Evelyn chuckled awkwardly. "You can balance work and love. It won't take much time. What's the harm in meeting someone?"

"It will. If I date, I'll have less time for work," Aidan argued, not interested.

Evelyn knew he was stubborn. If Aidan said no, nothing would change his mind.

She sighed. "Alright, do what you want. Just don't make Grandpa worry about us from heaven."

"Evelyn, are you using Grandpa to guilt-trip me?" Aidan laughed and flicked her forehead lightly.
