Chapter 79 Teach Him a Lesson
Throughout the entire exchange, Evelyn remained silent, watching them perform like an outsider.
When all three of them looked at her, Evelyn smiled and said, "Mr. Barns is showing such sincerity. If I don't accept the apology, wouldn't I be ungrateful?"
"If you're not happy, you don't have to accept it," Dermot said from the side.
But Evelyn shook her head, indifferent, "I am happy. It's not easy to make Mr. Barns apologize."
She heard Kenny emit a soft chuckle. Evelyn found this brother and sister duo before her quite interesting.
"Sis, I'm going to the restroom," he said, looking at his coffee-stained clothes with a grievance.
Natalie nodded and told him to go quickly and come back soon.
With her attention back on Evelyn, Natalie said, "Ms. Kyte, you're fortunate to have Dermot stepping in. Not everyone can enjoy such treatment."
"Her words were ironic, but Evelyn remained unfazed, while Dermot seemed a bit displeased. 'Natasha, be quiet," he said.
Natasha? Evelyn's gaze shifted between Dermot and Natalie. It seemed like these two were quite familiar with each other.
Perceiving her confusion, Natalie spoke up. 'The Barns family and the Doyle family are close friends. Dermot and I grew up together. Our conversations tend to be casual. Ms. Kyte, please don't mind."
They were childhood friends, Evelyn thought.
Cassie had just left, and Dermot had a childhood friend by his side., Evelyn understood where Cassie's insecurity came from.
Dermot became uneasy, fearing she would misunderstand something. He explained, 'Just good friends."
'Why are you explaining to me? I'm not acquainted with Mr. Doyle." Evelyn glanced at him, uninterested.
Dermot's expression turned sour, while Natalie across from him smiled.
It seemed like their relationship wasn't that great either.
'I'll go to the restroom to touch up my makeup. You two can chat." Evelyn stood up and walked towards the restroom.
In the men's restroom, Kenny cursed while cleaning the coffee stains off his clothes, not sparing Evelyn or Dermot.
'Bitch, when I get my hands on you, I'll see how I torment you."
'And you surnamed Doyle, don't think the Doyle family is all that. When you go bankrupt, I'll step on you and crush you."
Outside the restroom, Evelyn snickered as she listened to his words. She then put on a face mask and hat and entered.
Kenny was too occupied with his curses to notice someone had come in.
It wasn't until it turned dark in front of his eyes, and he was enveloped in a black plastic bag, that he panicked and shouted, 'Who are you? What do you want."
Evelyn didn't say a word but clenched her fist and swung it at him.
'Ah! Who the hell is hitting me."
'I'll fucking kill you."
Unfortunately, he only had a loud voice and no means to fight back.
After a round of punches and kicks that left him writhing on the ground, Evelyn was satisfied and clapped her hands before leaving the restroom.
Taking a deep breath, she felt much better.
One needed to beat someone up to vent their frustrations.
Apology? How ridiculous.
When Dermot and Natalie heard the screams of pain and rushed to the restroom, Evelyn had just come out of the adjacent women's restroom, wearing a confused expression. 'What happened?" she asked innocently.
"Are you okay?" Dermot looked worried.
"I'm fine" Evelyn shook her head and added, "I heard shouting from the next-door restroom; something must have happened there."
She pointed towards the men's restroom.
Natalie's face paled, and without hesitation, she hurriedly ran inside."
"Kenny!" Natalie's cry was quickly heard from the restroom.
Evelyn turned to the person beside her and asked, "It seems Mr. Barns is in trouble, don't you want to go and check on him?"
She realized the man was staring at her, his gaze full of meaning.
