Chapter 1054: Is There Something Suspicious about Your Injury

When Dermot brought Leon back to Joshua's villa, Evelyn had already gone to the hospital.

Joshua eyed Dermot at the door, his face darkening. "What do you want, Mr. Doyle?"

"Dr. Gray is heading back home. Before he leaves, he should check your injury. You don't want to be in a wheelchair forever, do you?" Dermot said with a faint smile.

Joshua glanced at him and the dozen bodyguards behind him, sneering, "With all these people, I thought you were here to rob me."

"You're overthinking it," Dermot replied, still smiling.

"And if I don't let you in?" Joshua challenged.

Dermot's smile vanished as his bodyguards stepped forward. "Then we'll use force. Trust me, you don't want that."

"Dermot, are you really going to trespass?" Joshua's expression turned icy.

Ignoring him, Dermot walked closer. "I'm just concerned about your injury. Why resist a check-up?"

Joshua stayed silent, but his eyes showed clear anger as he stared at Dermot.

"Is there something suspicious about your injury?" Dermot asked knowingly.

Joshua realized Dermot likely knew something or at least suspected. He needed to speed up his plan to go abroad.

"I don't know what you're implying. Leave, Mr. Doyle, or I'll call the police," Joshua said coldly. He couldn't let Leon examine him.

Dermot didn't back off; he got even closer. "You're not getting away today."

He was determined to have Leon check Joshua's injury to see if it was real or fake.

Brandon stepped in front of Joshua, but Dermot didn't take him seriously. Just as he was about to subdue Brandon, Evelyn drove up and stopped at the door. "Dermot! What are you doing?"

Hearing Evelyn's voice, Dermot was stunned. He had timed his visit for when Evelyn was at the hospital, but unexpectedly...

Seeing Joshua's smug smile, Dermot understood what was happening. But it didn't matter. Joshua's reaction confirmed something was off about his injury.

In fact, the whole incident around Evelyn's kidnapping seemed fishy.

"Evelyn, I brought Dr. Gray to check on Mr. Garcia," Dermot said.

Evelyn noticed Leon nearby and her expression softened. "If it's just a check-up, why use force?"

"Because Mr. Garcia refuses to let Dr. Gray examine him," Dermot replied, glancing at Joshua. "I had no choice but to take stronger measures."

Under Evelyn's gaze, Joshua calmly said, "Mr. Doyle brought so many people. I think he's here to beat me up, so of course, I can't agree."

Given their ongoing conflict, his suspicion wasn't surprising.

Seeing Dermot with so many people, Evelyn also felt something was off. "Dermot, Joshua is still injured. What are you trying to do?"

"Injured? I doubt his injury is even real," Dermot sneered, though he had no concrete proof, he was almost certain.

Evelyn frowned, puzzled by Dermot's accusation.

If Joshua wasn't really hurt, why would he be in a wheelchair? Who would willingly choose that?
