Chapter 1359 Extra: Aidan and Phoebe (34)

Hearing Byron's words, Aidan seemed to be mulling it over, which made Byron's eyes light up like a Christmas tree, thinking Aidan was hooked.

Byron said, "The Lowe family, besides the stuff everyone knows about, has a ton of hidden assets. Honestly, they're not much less than the Doyle family's these days."

Aidan smirked, looking at Byron with a mix of amusement and skepticism. "You seem pretty into the Lowe family's stash."

Byron kept quiet. Truth be told, if he wasn't eyeing the Lowe family's fortune, he wouldn't have signed up to be their live-in son-in-law.

But over the years, despite playing the obedient lapdog for Sienna, he still had zero respect in the Lowe family, and their wealth was totally out of his reach.

Outsiders thought he was living the dream, but only Byron knew that to the Lowe family, he was a nobody. He knew he had no shot, but he wasn't ready to throw in the towel just yet. So, if the Lowe family ended up in Aidan's hands, he'd be cool with it.

After all, Aidan was his kid, and from a bloodline angle, the Lowe family would eventually have a piece of his pie.

Byron had been in the Lowe family for ages, and he knew that if Aidan wasn't found, Kurt's incompetence meant that even if Sienna pushed for it, the Lowe family wouldn't hand over the reins to Kurt. The Lowe family was too big for anyone to be that dumb.

Aidan grinned, a playful glint in his eye. "If you want the Lowe family's loot so bad, why don't I help you out?"

"What do you mean?" Byron frowned, feeling a bit ticked off, thinking that after all his talk, Aidan didn't seem interested in the Lowe family's fortune.

Aidan leaned back on the couch, looking at Byron with disdain. "You help me get the inside scoop on the Lowe family, and I'll swipe their assets. Then I'll toss you some stocks, making sure you live the good life with a fat stack of cash."

Byron could hardly believe what he was hearing. He stared, wide-eyed, in shock. "Why would you do that?"

He didn't get it. Clearly, if Aidan just nodded, he could inherit the Lowe family's fortune. He didn't know why Aidan was making it so complicated or if he even had the chops to pull it off.

Aidan said, "I don't dig the surname Lowe. I think Brooks has a nice ring to it."

Byron was floored, unable to snap out of it for a long time. "Take your time to think it over. No rush, I've got all the time in the world." Swiping the Lowe family's assets wasn't as easy as he made it sound; Aidan still had a lot of groundwork to lay.

Byron looked at Aidan and could tell he wasn't joking. Pulling his gaze back, he looked sullen, clearly unhappy. "What makes you think I'd help you? I'm living the good life in the Lowe family."

"Do you really think being the Lowe family's live-in son-in-law is all that?" Aidan saw right through Byron. From the moment Byron mentioned the Lowe family's fortune, he knew Byron was after their wealth from the get-go.

Byron just didn't expect Sienna to be so sharp, never giving him a chance to get close to the core of the Lowe family. So, after all these years, he was still stuck and starting to freak out a bit.
