Chapter 57 He Is Evelyn's Ex-husband
I just don't like those with the last name Doyle. what's wrong with liking someone with the surname Kartland?" Evelyn was furious. He had no right to decide who she likes.
"Evelyn!" Dermot gritted his teeth.
Evelyn raised her head and looked at him. She said word by word deliberately, "I don't like people with the surname Doyle, especially ones named Dermot."
Before she could finish her sentence, Dermot's big hand grabbed her chin. "Say it again."
"I said, I don't like..."
"Mmm..." Before Evelyn could finish speaking, Dermot's lips sealed hers, and the scorching sensation overwhelmed her mind.
She stared at the man in front of her, completely forgetting to push him away.
"Smack!"
Suddenly realizing what happened, Evelyn slapped Dermot's face in anger and shouted, "Dermot! You jerk!"
Dermot covered his now slapped cheek, his face darkening. "You're the first person in my life to dare hit me."
"I hit you, so what?" If it weren't for the law, she would want to kill this man.
The man gritted his teeth and nodded, "Alright, let's see if you can endure my anger."
After speaking, Dermot turned and left.
Hearing his words, Evelyn wanted to laugh out of anger. So he still believed he did nothing wrong, huh?
Wiping her lips, feeling unsatisfied, she walked straight into the bathroom and splashed cold water on her face several times, feeling much better.
"Let's just think of it as being bitten by a dog," she comforted herself.
Dermot returned to his own home. Although he was angry about Evelyn slapping him, he realized that his actions were somewhat inappropriate.
But at that moment, he didn't have time to think too much. He only wanted to shut the woman's mouth.
He touched his lips, still feeling the warmth from Evelyn, making him feel a bit dazed.
But soon, the pain on his cheek brought him back to reality. His eyes darkened, and anger began to rise within him.
Just then, Craig called, and Dermot suppressed his anger again.
"What's up?" he asked, his voice cold.
Craig paused for a moment, curiously asking, "What's wrong with you? Your tone sounds like failure. Don't tell me that Keith guy succeeded?"
"If you have something to say, say it. If not, leave me alone." He was in a bad mood and didn't feel like joking with Craig.
"Fine, I’m not teasing you. I have something to tell you, and I promise you'll be interested." Craig chuckled. If Dermot were present, he would have seen the teasing look in his eyes.
Dermot stayed silent, and Craig continued, "Do you know who spread information about Evelyn's ex-husband?"
"If I knew, would I need you to investigate?" Dermot said impatiently.
"The Doyle family," he said.
In an instant, Dermot thought he misheard.
"Dermot, you didn't expect that, did you?" Only God knows how shocked he was when he found out this information, but after regaining his composure, he understood what it entailed.
Dermot certainly didn't expect it, even now that Craig is telling him, he still doesn't believe it. For a long time, the anger in his heart has completely disappeared, replaced by another indescribable emotion.
"Are you serious?" he asked.
"Of course," Craig said, then continued, "Since you didn't know about this, it means it wasn't you, so it must be Grandpa Doyle."
"But why would Grandpa Doyle hide information about Evelyn's ex-husband? I believe you would know better than me."
Indeed, Dermot knew very well.
If it really was Grandpa Doyle, then he did it not for Evelyn, but for Dermot.
Grandpa Doyle only had one grandson, and Dermot happened to be divorced, just like Evelyn. Various signs indicated...
He is Evelyn's ex-husband!
