Chapter 862 Someone Is Watching Us
"Is Niall really coming to Golombia? That's awesome!" Evelyn beamed. It had been ages since the three of them hung out together, and she missed those days.
Seeing her so happy, Aidan asked, "If you want him to come so bad, why don't you just ask? He'd definitely say yes."
"You and Niall are always so nice to me. I know you'd agree, but I can't just influence you guys because of my own wishes," Evelyn said. If they came to Golombia for their own reasons, she'd be thrilled, but if it was just because she asked, it felt different. She didn't want to be selfish.
Aidan looked at her, feeling conflicted. "Evelyn, sometimes being a little selfish isn't a bad thing. You don't always have to be so considerate."
Aidan thought Evelyn should loosen up and not always worry about them.
"It's not about being selfish. I think friendship should be mutual. You guys are nice to me, so of course, I want to be nice to you, too," Evelyn said.
Joshua sat in the back seat, listening to their conversation, feeling a bit left out.
Even though Evelyn said she considered him family like Aidan and Niall, there was still a difference. He and Evelyn would never be as close as Aidan and her.
So, if he really wanted Evelyn to stay by his side forever, there was only one way: to become her lover. Otherwise, they were destined to drift apart.
Before long, the car stopped at the largest mall in Golombia, and they walked in.
"It's been a long time since I last went shopping with you, Evelyn.. Today, buy whatever you want, and I'll pay," Aidan said with a grin.
Evelyn laughed. "Then I won't hold back."
She was genuinely happy because it felt like her relationship with Aidan was back to normal, and they were family again.
Inside the mall, Aidan took Evelyn shopping, visiting almost every store and buying a bunch of stuff, which they had the mall staff send home. Then they went to the top floor, where the restaurants were.
They wandered around, trying to decide which restaurant to eat at.
After a few steps, Evelyn stopped and looked back but saw nothing.
Her instincts were always sharp, thanks to her long-term martial arts training.
"What's wrong?" Aidan and Joshua asked.
"Nothing, just felt like someone was watching us," she replied.
Aidan and Joshua's faces changed, and they looked back.
But behind them were just other shoppers, and they didn't see anyone suspicious.
Evelyn patted them. "Let's find a place to eat. Maybe I was wrong."
She didn't want to ruin their good day.
The two didn't say much, but they both became more alert.
In the end, the three chose a steakhouse. Evelyn and Joshua sat down to order while Aidan went to the restroom.
Joshua instinctively looked in the direction Aidan left and noticed that he didn't go to the restroom inside but went outside, which he found a bit strange.
"Joshua, what do you want to eat?" Evelyn asked after ordering a few dishes and handing Joshua the menu.
Joshua snapped out of it and smiled. "I'm good with anything. Order what you like."
"Alright." Evelyn didn't hold back. She knew what Joshua and Aidan liked, so she added a few more dishes they enjoyed and handed the menu to the waiter.
