Chapter 307 The Ugly Face of Capitalism
Evelyn, however, was not in a hurry. She smiled at Keith, not saying a word.
Keith was infuriated and gritted his teeth. "Under the name of the Kartland family, we can offer half the rent for high-end shopping malls in Moris City, but not in other parts of the country."
Though Keith was currently in charge of the Kartland family, once he made a decision, it would be difficult for him to change it.
Making this decision is bound to give others a handle on him in the Kartland family.
"Just Moris City?" Evelyn looked a bit disappointed.
Keith gritted his teeth. "Moris City is already great. Do you know how much the annual rent is for the best location in a high-end shopping mall? Moreover, the Kartland family has more than one mall in Moris City."
Furthermore, in Keith's eyes, it is a question whether Evelyn's brand can expand beyond Moris City. It is too early to ask her for nationwide shopping malls.
"Alright then." Evelyn stood up, very satisfied. "Let's go, let's go eat. Mr. Kartland is treating."
"After hanging out with Dermot for so long, the only thing you haven't learned is his ugly face as a capitalist. You imitated it perfectly." Keith couldn't help but make fun.
Evelyn ignored whatever he said. The real deal is to gain concrete benefits.
Keith walked ahead, with Sarah and Evelyn following behind. Sarah whispered to Evelyn, "Evelyn, you are always quick-witted. He has come to the company so many times, why didn't I think about discussing the brand entering the malls with him?"
Evelyn glanced at her but didn't expose her: "It's alright, Sarah. You didn't know before that the Kartland family manages malls."
"That's true." Sarah nodded.
Evelyn Marina, she knew very well in her heart that Sarah wasn't unaware of it, but rather didn't bother to investigate. If she had the intention, it would be easy to find out.
Evelyn didn't know what Sarah and Keith were talking about, but from the current situation, they certainly weren't discussing work.
She didn't mind. For her, it would actually be a good thing if Sarah and Keith truly ended up together.
However...
Thinking of Sarah's past, Evelyn couldn't help but worry a bit.
It seems that she needs to remind Keith to avoid hurting anyone in the end.
In no time, the three arrived at the restaurant. During Sarah's trip to the restroom, Evelyn asked Keith seriously, "What do you mean?"
"What do I mean? I thought you understood very well." Keith chuckled. If Evelyn hadn't realized his feelings for Sarah, how could she have confidently agreed just now?
"I do understand, but I'm not entirely sure. I just wanted to confirm with you now." Evelyn smiled. Now she was certain about Keith's feelings for Sarah.
Leaning back in her chair, she said to him, "You changed your mind pretty quickly. I remember you said you wanted to pursue me before."
"You have Dermot there, so I didn't have a chance." Keith dismissed it casually.
"Speaking of Dermot, it seems like you've been getting along well with him lately. I haven't seen you bother him." She hadn't forgotten their recent conversation.
When Keith first met Dermot, his hatred towards him ran deep. It seemed as if that resentment had never existed, it was just a short time ago.
Evelyn's blunt words pierced through Keith's embarrassment: "Who said that I have a good relationship with him? It's all a facade. Let me find an opportunity, and I will eventually ruin the Doyle family."
"Oh? Is that so?"
A familiar male voice came from behind Keith, causing his back to stiffen and a feeling of being caught in the act.
Dermot walked over and sat next to Evelyn, looking at Keith across from them. "I never expected you to still have a wicked heart. What's the matter? Don't want the Kartland family anymore?"
"Just kidding," Keith forced a laugh, but it was an ugly one.
"What do you mean?" Evelyn noticed something off in Dermot's words and turned to ask him.
