Chapter 96 How did you come?

Dermot didn't sleep well that night.

He had a dream where he went back to the day he and Evelyn got their marriage certificate. Except it wasn't arranged by Grandpa but he went to the civil affairs bureau with Evelyn to get the certificate.

He saw Evelyn at that moment, unlike in reality where they hadn't seen each other for two years. Everything after that was different.

However, he realized that this was just a dream.

"It's just a dream.

In the hospital, there was a surgery in the morning, and the afternoon was relatively empty. Evelyn was in the office organizing medical records.

It was at that she received a phone call from Grandpa Doyle, inviting her to his birthday banquet.

"Evelyn, Grandpa only celebrates once every ten years. You wouldn't miss it, would you?" Grandpa Doyle said.

"Evelyn: Grandpa, I will be there on time."

"That's good." Grandpa Doyle hung up the phone, looking forward to the meeting between his grandson and Evelyn.

He believed that once his grandson saw Evelyn, he would fall in love.

At this moment, he still didn't know that Dermot had already met Evelyn on the second day after the divorce, and he had developed a liking for her without knowing she was his ex-wife.

After hanging up with Grandpa Doyle, Evelyn was about to continue her work when the office door was knocked.

She looked up and it turned out to be Keith.

"Why are you here?" she asked, puzzled.

"Just came to ask if you like the dress." Keith smiled

Evelyn thought about the dress Keith had chosen. It was nice, but it wasn't her style.

But since it was a gift, she didn't want to be picky. "It's great, how much is it? I'll transfer the money to you."

"You're treating me like an outsider." Keith was unhappy, feeling like no matter what he did, he couldn't enter Evelyn's heart.

"No, I just..."

"Just think of it as your reward for being my companion. You wouldn't refuse that, right?" Keith had no choice but to say that.

Since he put it like that, Evelyn naturally couldn't say anything else. "Okay, thank you."

Keith felt a bit better. He leaned against Evelyn's desk with his chin in his hand, staring at her with affection, which gave people goosebumps.

Evelyn chuckled awkwardly, feeling overwhelmed. "If you have something to say, just say it. I can't work with you staring at me like this."

"It's nothing, just missed you, wanted to see you." he said.

Evelyn didn't find it touching, she just found it greasy, with Keith's eyes, it made her uncomfortable both physically and mentally.

Her dislike was too obvious, even Keith felt awkward. "It seems like you don't like this dress."

"Huh." She forced a smile. "Just keep it normal, okay?"

"Fine." Keith nodded, returning to his usual self.

"By the way, you mentioned before that you wanted me to accompany you to a banquet. Which day exactly?" Because she had to attend Grandpa Doyle's birthday banquet tomorrow, she was afraid it would clash with Keith's event.

"Tomorrow." Keith answered.

It was a case of fearing something and having it come true. Evelyn could only apologize, "I might not be able to accompany you tomorrow."

"Why?" Keith was surprised, his voice even raised a bit.

"Tomorrow, I also have a banquet to attend." She shrugged.

Keith fell silent, pondering before asking, "Grandpa Doyle's birthday banquet?"

"You know?" Evelyn exclaimed in surprise.

"Who doesn't know?" Keith retorted, then laughed, "Well, that's perfect. I want you to accompany me to this banquet."

Evelyn was surprised but then found it quite normal. A party that Keith valued so much must not be an ordinary one, and it seemed that the recent Grandpa Doyle's birthday banquet was particularly important.
