Chapter 607 You're Too Late
AtWithin the austere walls of the Jiang Corporation, Evelyn had spentdevoted the previous day getting familiar with the files, keen to proveacquainting herself with the labyrinth of files, a determined endeavor to disprove Lucia and the others wrong. She’d contactedher cohorts. She had taken the initiative to contact the secretary in advance and headed straightbeforehand, charting a direct course for the client's office, where she was promptly led to swiftly ushered into a lounge.
Soon enoughIn due course, the client came in, bringingmade his entrance, accompanied by an unexpected person with him –unforeseen companion - Leap Lock.
"Evelyn," the client greeted her extended his salutation first, a mattergesture of respect duedeference accorded to her standingstatus as a Lady of the Kyte family.
Acknowledging his greeting with a nod, Evelyn nodded, ignoringdisregarded Leap Lock and turningLock's presence, her attention tofocus solely on the man standing before her, "Good. "A pleasure to see you, Garrett."
"Good to see you too"The pleasure is mine, please, sit downhave a seat," Garrett saidreturned, his smile warm and inviting.Dispensing with a welcoming smile.
She took a seat with no further pleasantries, readyformalities, she seated herself, primed to discuss delve into the business.
Leap Lock broke the at hand. The silence with a grinthat ensued was shattered by Leap Lock's grinning inquiry, "Did Evelyn swingdrop by for thatthe Southside project today?"

Garrett wasn't surprised and feigned surprise and regret, "If that's the casesituation, then I'm afraid you're a tadbit late, Ms. Kyte. I've just inkedfinalized a dealcontract with Mr. Rowe."
Startled by his words,His revelation left Evelyn felt puzzlednonplussed. The Rowes didn’t exactly excelwere not renowned for their prowess in this domain, sofield, making their sudden move to partneralliance with Garrett seemed odd.

I believe both havepossess the capabilityrequisite competence, so if the Rowes back out, of coursewithdraw, naturally, I'd turn to the Kyte family."
Evelyn got it. He wanted her to understood his implication. He was suggesting she should appeal to Leap Lock.
"Mr. Garrett, mightmay I have a wordrequest a private conversation with Mr. Rowe in private?" Evelyn asked with a proposed, her smile, clearly ready indicating her readiness to convincepersuade Leap Lock.
Surprised by her request, Garrett found it quite somethingwas taken aback by her request, finding it remarkable that the lady of the Kyte family would go to any lengthsuch lengths for a partnership.
He smirked at Leap Lock and patted, patting his shoulder in a friendly manner, "Remember to be a gentleman."
Leap Lock laughed heartily, thinking Evelyn was beneath him for selling herself out for a deal, responded with a hearty laugh, considering Evelyn's desperation for a deal beneath him. The idea of competing with Lucia felt like a joke to him.
In his mindseemed ludicrous.Inwardly, he scornedderided Evelyn, yet his face beamedwas alight with a smile. Despite her being divorced, she status, her allure was undeniably alluring.
