Chapter 414 I Won't Let You Go

Evelyn didn't answer her, but said, "Don't worry about that, I'll figure something out."

"Evelyn, you don't have to..." Ruby started.

"Enough with that. If you continue to treat me like an outsider, it means you've never considered me your friend," said Evelyn angrily. The Kite family faced a crisis, and Ruby didn't even tell her. Could she still consider her a friend?

Ruby fell silent and dared not say anything more.

She did consider Evelyn her friend, but it was because she considered her a friend that she was afraid of involving her.

Unbeknownst to them, on the second floor of the villa, Craig stood by the window, watching the two below through the glass.

He had a gloomy expression on his face, with someone standing behind him. If Ruby dared to leave with Evelyn, he guaranteed that neither of them would escape.

Downstairs, after giving some instructions, Evelyn left the villa alone.

Before leaving, she glanced at the window on the second floor. She knew where Craig was since she could feel someone watching her.

Silently, she conveyed to Craig, "If you dare to harm Ruby, I won't let you go."

After saying that, she started the car and drove away.

Craig laughed when he saw this, not knowing whether it was because of Evelyn's provocation or Ruby's wise decision not to leave.

"Mr. Dermot, Mr. Doyle knows about your affair with Ms. Kite and wants you to come back," the bodyguard behind him spoke, sounding nervous.

As expected, when Craig heard these words, his face turned pitch black. "Tell him to get lost!"

Bodyguard: ...

Footsteps could be heard at the door, and it was awkward for the bodyguard to say anything else, so he turned around and left the room.

At the entrance, just as Ruby was about to knock on the door, the bodyguard opened it and came face to face with her. "Ms. Kite."

Ruby nodded and asked, "Is he inside?"

"He is."

Afterward, the bodyguard left, and Ruby took a deep breath. Only after preparing herself did she step inside.

When Craig saw her, his previously gloomy face showed a faint smile. However, this smile was somewhat sinister. "What? Not leaving with Evelyn? Can't bear to leave me?"

"Don't lay a hand on her," Ruby said.

"How dare I! Your friend is quite formidable, capable of using many methods. Who knows, one day, she might use some leverage against me to demand your release," Craig sneered. He didn't have a good temper when it came to Evelyn.

Ruby pursed her lips, then continued, "This time, you didn't force me. I chose to stay, it's different."

"Hmph," Craig sneered, mocking someone but it wasn't clear who.

Seeing her standing so far away, as if she were some terrifying monster, Craig felt extremely annoyed. "Come here and give me a shoulder massage."

Ruby didn't refuse and walked towards him.

When Greg received Evelyn's phone call, he couldn't believe it. After all, this was the first time Evelyn had called him.

"Evelyn..."

"You

"Where are you? I need to talk to you," Evelyn asked without waiting for Greg to say much.

Greg was momentarily taken aback, but quickly replied, "I'm at Barberts Apartment, you forgot I moved here."

"On which floor?" Evelyn asked.

"I'll come up to find you," Greg hung up the phone and looked at his vacant, uninhabited apartment, thinking it would be better if Evelyn didn't come.

Evelyn quickly arrived to meet Greg, this time without any sarcastic remarks, her attitude much improved from before.

Greg was surprised by the special treatment but remained clear-headed, knowing that Evelyn couldn't have suddenly had a change of heart without a reason.

"It seems like you have something you need my help with," he asked, stating his guess.

Evelyn didn't deny it either, pouring him a glass of water before saying, "In Moris City, the Irvine family has a person named Craig, do you know him?"
